Warrior stick differences

Recommended Posts

Looking to switch from reebok sickkick sticks to a Warrior stick. What are the differences between all these names for sticks? I go on hockeymonkey and there is like 10 different models for warrior sticks (Bentley, Esquire, Widow, Diablo, Covert, Ransom). Kind of ridiculous. Coming from an 18K, what is similar?

Also i noticed the Warrior Lies are lower across the board from other brands, im seeing a lot of Lie 4's. Is a lie 4 in Warrior the same as a Lie 5 in Bauer/Reebok?

Are the flex ratings true to their number?

I'd just stick with the covert or new dynasty line. Or a clearance widow. Widow and covert are low kick. Similar to the sickick. I preferred them to the reebok. I thought the warriors felt more whippy at 75 flex than reeboks at the same.

For lie, the reebok hedman curve is the same lie and curve as zetterberg warrior. I think zetterberg is lie 4 and hedman 5 or 5.5. Companies just measure different.

I got my widow in the end of December and the blade is already cracked vertically. And it's nothing more than open hockey. But, I will say that I really liked the feel. Kovalchuk curve, 85 flex. Warrior sticks are longer also which can throw off what flex you like.

I'd stick with the new covert or the second generation dynasty line. They've really upgraded their blades to be more durable. The AX1 is amazing.

Covert is hands down the best stick ive used. I currently have a 20k, 2 widows( + 2 other cracked vertically dead middle of the blade), an AI9, an s19, and an RSII, and i prefer the DT1 to all of them. the durability/blades really hame improved. give it a shot.

Widow & Covert both have a low kick point. The Widows are available on clearance if you want to experiment to get a feel before dropping $200+. But reliability issues should be a concern. I broke 2 and my son broke his Jr. one. All 3 exactly the same, split along the bottom of the blade and vertically up the face around the middle of the blade. My son loves his Covert DT1 replacement.

This is a little dated, but what was the flex profile on the Dolomite with the orange and blue highlights?

there's not a real flex profile it's just a taper that gives a slightly low kick

i agree with others here, the new sticks are much better, new coverts are great sticks. the DT3 is good value for money stick in my opinion and worth a try and they offer good warranty also for peace of mind. the new graphics on the sticks look nice too.
