Mid-Level Sticks (Is there such a thing?)

Recommended Posts

Looking for an improved twig for beer league this year. I'm a low level puck handler, but I've developed a decent wrist & snap shot. Currently using an older Easton Synergy RS (freebie stick that I really enjoy, but it's cracking badly at the toe and won't last more than another game or two). My extra is an Easton S7, 100 flex, Iginla Curve

Is there a mid-level stick out there, or do you pretty much go from base-level to high-level (even though price ranges will be available all over the place)?

For example, how much more of a stick am I getting in the Easton Stealth 75S compared to the S7, since the 75S is on sale for $69?

Other recommendations without spending $150 or more?

Look at the new new covert line that's hitting stores in a day or two. Their mid level sticks really pack a lot of the top end features and are priced nicely. Their dt3lt is nearly the same as the top dt1lt except place of manufacturing and the carbon isn't US aerospace spec. And that's straight from the warrior reps mouth here on the boards.

You can also look at close out the reason I got into warrior to begin with was I bought a closeout widow for $120 and that's a lot of stock for that.

Honestly the new Easton V5E feels great and is around 120 bucks. Closeout sticks is also a different option but as for current sticks that I have felt the V5E would be my choice.

Right now a lot of retailers will have 20 percent of deals running. You can find a last years top end for just over your price range. A lot of people are going to suggest one brand that they love, but just choose one with features you think for your style. The mid level stick is thriving right now, and it seems all the manufacturers have great mid level offerings.

I've stopped buying sticks retail since I discovered this site and another pro stock site just like it. I got a used TotalOne for $95 shipped on MSH and a brand new 11k pro stock for $100 picked up locally on the other site. You can't get much more bang for your buck than that. Of course, that's if you know exactly what stick you want to get.

I think the sweet spot for sticks right now is that $100-$150 price range. I think those are about 80% of the top of the line quality at close to half the cost.
