CCM, Easton, and/or Other Jerseys

Recommended Posts

So it seems like this season my team finally is looking into doing custom jerseys. We are a roller team (i know this is the ice forum but you guys seem better fitted for this) that plays year round and in hot sweaty ass rinks.

Just for putting numbers on now, and possibly a log on later would the CCM 10200 (with or without shoulder colors http://www.hockeymonkey.com/ccm-hockey-jersey-10200s-two-tone-practice.html ) or the easton bio-dri ( http://www.hockeymonkey.com/easton-hockey-jersey-biodry-practice.html ) be suitable? I know they say practice but would they be able to withstand at least a couple seasons abuse? Is there something else out there that would be better suited in this price range? were trying to keep it to $30 max per player on a team of about 12 including a goalie.

Tron would be a good place to look if you are trying to cut costs and keep the jersey light and breathable. I have two of the $9.99 ones and they are holding up great after a year of use.

The CCMs hold up just fine. Just about every team I have played on has used them and they always do the trick. The only thing I don't like about them is that I have long arms and the sleeve length seems out of proportion with the sizing. I'm 6'1"/215 and am between an XL and an XXL in the CCMs. I go for the XXL for the length and I still have to roll the sleeve up an inch or so to have enough slack in the elbows. I wear a Reebok practice jersey for drop in and don't have the same problem wearing a Large (though the Reebok's material is much more plyable).

I really prefer the basic Warrior practice jerseys because they are just as affordable and have just a little more weight to them so they don't shift around as much. However, they run a little big and have wide sleeves; great for ice, probably not as great for roller hockey.

I can't speak for the Eastons, but having owned both the CCM 10100 and 10200, I can tell you that if I were able, I'd try and track down the older 10100s if at all possible. Yes, the 10200 are softer and more comfortable, but material pulls and snags with seemingly no effort at all. Also, like leftwinger37 above, I'm a taller dude with long arms and the cut of the CCM jersey doesn't work all that well for me, but you and your teammates might not have that problem. You guys also might not be as picky as me when it comes to cosmetic flaws.

If I had my pick of any jersey for roller hockey, I played on a roller team a few years back that used Kamazu FlexxLite Ice 14100 jerseys, and I loved them. I thought they were light, breathable, and suited my build perfectly. If you go that route, though, I recommend buying a size smaller than you normally would; they run a little on the big side.

I'll ask about the kamazu when I speak to junkyard today, he has them lusted on his site and I see they have them in the Montreal colorway we were looking for.

Also for reference they are flexxice lite. The number is correct.

Even if cost wasn't a huge factor, I would suggest going with a practice weight jersey due to heat issues.
