HawksFan#4 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2013 I'm sure there might already be a thread on this topic, but I couldn't find it. I have been wearing Bauer supreme one60's this season in size 8.5 EE. My main problem is the width of the skate directly adjacent to my (very low) arch (the outside edge of my foot) being too tight and feeling like my foot is being crushed latterly. Also, my ankle bones do not sit in the pre formed ankle spots inside the boot, they sit lower and more forward toward the lace eyelets. While I'm sure that after more use my ankle will just wear their own dimple in the foam padding, it still causes pain after about an hour of hard skating. Before purchasing the supremes I also tried on a pair of vapors as we ass reebok. The vapors were completely the wrong shape, didn't seem to fit anywhere. When I tried the reeboks, they were too wide in the midfoot in both D and E. I'm just wondering if there is a particular skate that will work better for me? As I absolutely love bauer skates. Ps. I JUST pass the pencil test.
romdj 26 Report post Posted December 22, 2013 you might want to give the mako a go, they have a really good heel lock and thermoformability. Def give them a try in store and ask to get them baked prior to putting them on..
bandits_5 18 Report post Posted December 22, 2013 Id say if he's in a one .6 , he's not looking to drop 800 bucks on skates since that's a 200 dollar price point skate.

HawksFan#4 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2013 Thanks Bandit, I should have clarified that. I'm just getting back into hockey, haven't played since I was in peewee. I'd rather not jump up in price too much because I feel I should strengthen my skating before I buy a high quality pair of skates. The nexus line sounds like it is what I need. However I do enjoy everything else about my supremes. Is there something that can be done about the tight midfoot in my supremes?

Should I be trying the standard yellow Superfeet?
MARKBENJ 1 Report post Posted January 1, 2014 I also think you should try a Superfeet Yellow insole. If you can be physically fitted for them it is always better. That way you take the right width and arch length that suits your foot. They changed my life on the ice. No more foot pain and also prevented pain that I was having in the knees. They are an amazing product ( Not for everyone !) but by reading the description of the problem you are having I think they will be great in your case. HawksFan#4 0 Report post Posted January 21, 2014 Thank you all for the input, it is greatly appreciated. I was also wondering if there was something I could do with my lacing pattern to alleviate some of the pressure on my outer midfoot?
chrisehyoung 14 Report post Posted January 22, 2014 I had the same issue with my Supreme One70s. I had them punched out at the pinch point but I still could never get a great fit and feel out of them. I always had trouble with the tongue slipping to one side or the other too. I finally traded them for a pair of Reebok 18Ks. If you don't like the fit of the Reeboks, try a CCM RBZ 80. They will fit into your budget and are a very comfortable skate. They are wider than the Supremes too. I tried the Nexus 600 skate but found I couldn't get a good fit out of them either.

Man, are you in my head? I am in the same boat, well I'm looking to move on from my Graf Ultra G5's (a wide Graf boot) and was eyeing the Nexus 600's, I thought for sure that I would be getting them, but after trying them on, they just didn't fit right and felt rather uncomfortable in the arch. (i have a low arch) Upon walking around in the Nexus 600's the CCM RBZ 80's caught my eye, I tried them on and was pretty stoked on how good they felt. The stoke grew even further after inserting one of the aftermarket CCM footbeds, I didn't feel any potential hotspots or pain in the arch area at all. I'm hoping to pull the trigger on a pair of CCM RBZ 80's next month.
