Kid's 6th birthday party activity ideas? Need to fill an hour before ice time..

For my son's 6th birthday party he wanted a "hockey party". We've got an hour of ice time, and use of a large room for about 90 minutes prior. Approx 16-20 of his Mite 3 teammates will be attending. The on ice is no problem, but I'm looking for hockey related activities/games to fill up some time. Any ideas?

on a serious note you could do some sort of an equipment relay race or something. Each kid gears up runs to his friend strips down that kid gears up runs back first one done gets a prize?

Is the food part of that 90 minutes, or just games/activities? Big room? Are you responsible for cleanup?

I like the idea above - equipment relay. Maybe with your gear, that is adult and not kid-size? A little more difficult and several times more ridiculous. Pin the puck on [x] is a solid standby.

Is this a group capable of doing a sit-down activity? Maybe you could iron some blank (b&w) logos on plain t-shirts and set them loose with some fabric paint/markers and have them make their own team t-shirt?

Have a 3v3 knee hockey tournament, and the winning team gets like candy bars or something.

Get a piñata!
Piñata over the ice is hilarious fun (we did it at the local pond for my birthday when I was 10 or 11), a big old cottonwood had a limb hanging over the ice.

Do some kind of silly relay race--have them wear their helmets, pairs of kids try to hold a tennis ball or puck between their helmets while they run/walk to the other end of the room and try to drop the ball/puck into a bucket.
