Elite Hockey Laces

Recommended Posts

This may sound awful finicky, but the fit of my Makos work really well for me and I don't want to screw with it.

I currently have the Elite Hockey Non-Waxed laces on my Easton Makos. They fit great, but I took a blade to the eyelets during a battle along the boards and they began to shred, and recently just tore completely.

I'm currently using a pair of bright green non-waxed laces and they look awful, and they're not uniform. I need a pair of blacks or whites.

The LHS near me no longer carries the regular non-waxed laces, they only carry the Pro-XT, which is considerably thicker. Has anyone tried these laces, and can tell me if there's any significant differences?

Is there a reason the "Pro" version of these laces are wider and thicker? If anything, they feel softer and stretchier too.

Sportcheck has what you're looking for.

Main and Downtown are both out of my size (84) and with my course load I can't travel further than that tomorrow. The game's Saturday. I might have to just go with the Pro-XT.

Thanks, though.

Some like q wider lace bc they feel like a thinner one may cut a bit more and cause pressure points or lace bite. I would give them a try or even the waxed as wellz they're cheap enough to experiment.

I'm using A&R waxed laces on my Mako and I love them, I've tried a few waxed and non-waxed laces and out of all of them I like A&R waxed the best. Plus they come in all sorts of colours if you're looking to be different..

On the elite site it says they pro xt is wax free because the width of the laces alone provide good hold. Can anyone confirm this? Kinda skeptical of getting wax free laces

I tried the Elite Oval laces and hated them. They were extremely prone to twisting, which negated the reason why I tried them in the first place.

I have been using Elite's normal waxed laces since then and have no complaints. They stay flat, have ample wax, and don't stretch out.
