Pittard digital palms?

I am looking at potentially splurging on a pair of Malkin Pro Stock HSX gloves. Specs are:

Malkin Easton HSX's
Used only once
Single layer pittard digital palms

I cannot find much information on the nature of these palms, except that they (the people behind Pittard) claim to be water repellant.

My main concern is durability. Since it is single layer, can I expect it to tear rather quickly?

I am guessing the rest of the glove will hold up just fine. I am not pro so I do not have the luxury of just throwing these to the side and calling Easton for a new pair, when the palms rip.

If I grab these, then would you advise reinforcing them, prior to their tearing? Reason I ask is I will be travelling to US in 4 days, and will be there for 5 weeks.

If reinforcement is advisable, then what material would you advise overlaying this? (another layer of digi pittard, perhaps) And who would you advise that I work with?

I will be in Los Angeles, so I am thinking JYA, or Jake's in El Segundo?

Still have not closed the deal yet, so we will see.

If you get them, use them as they are and repalm them when you have to. I had a pair of pro stock Bauer 4-Rolls with single layer digital palms, and nothing else compares for feel and grip. I used them about once a week for a year using a Tacki Mac grip, and I never got a hole in either palm.

Cosmic, I don't do repairs, sorry.

Jake's can do it, or, Leon at Old World Shoe and Boot Repair in Anaheim can, although, I'm not sure either will have a digital overlay or a palm in their stock.

If you want to meet up, I'm willing to give you a pair of Sure-Grip palms, which is a thicker version of goat digital.

AWESOME!! Thanks JYA. For sure, let's plan on that. I am throwing the kitchen sink at this guy as a potential trade, so let's hope if he takes me up on it. I think you are in OC, if I recall correctly? I will for sure be headed to HockeyMonkey at least once to try things on and see about the Grit Tower, so we can meet up on one of those runs, or you are welcome to come on up and meet up in the South Bay area (Where I will be staying). Maybe we can grab a drop in sesh at El Segundo- I plan to try to go daily (key terms- "plan" and "try").

Good to know about the durability you have experienced. I use the Oggie Ergo grip, which seems to be equivalent of TackiMac in regard to keeping palms intact (just a different effect for stickhandling/ shooting/ forechecking, which I much prefer over the straight ended stick).

Using something to pad the butt ends makes a huge difference in durability on any palm. I've used TackiMac and some custom Oggie grips in addition to some of the foam that I got from Joe@Oggie.
