Vapor XV Gloves

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have the Vapor XV gloves? They fit quite similar to the XX's, but the 114.99 price tag is just a wee bit easier to stomache than the 199.99 for the XX's. They still have the nice dry fit liner, and the only real differences I could tell were in the palms and and thumb. I've never tried a glove in my price range that felt as nice as my 4 year old mission warp 4's, but after this last time I got them repalmed there's a ridge on the palm that rubs right on the bone on my thumb, so I think it's time to retire them. Just wondering what people think of them, if there are any durability issues with them or anything like that.

Do a search on them. There are a couple of general glove threads where people have talked about them. I own a pair and personally think they're the best gloves on the market right now in terms of bang for buck. They're still one of the best gloves out there regardless of its great price tag. I've had mine for a year now and they're still going strong if you're worried about durability. Take into account though that I only get out once a week but it still adds up to about 48 games + some stick and puck.

As has been said gloves are so much PP, but when my son had the Bauer XV's, he loved them. Seems like the Bauer XV's, the Eagle X-70's, and the Tour Pro G-7's mustl have a similar fit, because he is very fussy about the feel of his gloves, and loved all three of these gloves. From recollection, I believe the Bauers may feel just a hair more snug on the hand, while still allowing very free wrist movement.

i tried a pair of my friends and the fit and mobility was just as good as XX's, but i think people who buy XX's need a bit more protection, since XX's have a lock thumb, and a zoom air insert instead of just a regular air insert. my guess is the zoom air if better at absorbing impact. if you don't need mega protection, XV's are way better for the price

I have XV gloves to and they are the best gloves, like kobe said, out there for such a low price. Great protection abd awesome feel. In a game I had a few dayd ago someone tokk a huge slapshot and the puck hit right in the middle of the back of the glove. I could barely feel the puck hit it and there was just a tiny tiny scuff on the glove.

I have a pair of the XV gloves because our school team wears them. Over the previous 4 years i've used Eagle X-50's L-30's and H-35's and the Bauer XV although they have a different fit and are a little bit tighter in the hand, the gloves are excellent and I have no objections to wearing them, if they are a glove you are seriously considering buying then go for it, you wont be disappointed.

Actually the XX don't have a locked thumb, it's the same flexlock thats on the XV. Though in my experience the fit of the XV is a bit tighter (especially in the thumb) than the XX.

When I first tried on this line of gloves i was like I have to get them. XX were a bit pricey and I didnt see much of a difference so I went with the XV. Whenever anyone tries them on there like holy shit Thoes are the most comfy gloves.

actually, i found the XX and XV to be kind of restricting, but the XXX just blew me away, especially with the plastic lock thumb that also flexed.

Ironic, since the XX, XV and XXX all have the same flexpoints and thumb...

saying that the xx and xv are restrictive is quite possibly the most ridiculous thing ive ever heard. If they're restrictive, what does that make everything else on the market? Handcuffs?

the xv felt a little bit more comfy for me than the xx. nice gloves. the xxx feel beautiful, but it feels like the palm wouldn't last that long.

the xv's are available (size 15" only) at sportsauthority on-line for $68 plus shipping or spend $99 for free shipping.

So Far my XXX's palms have held up pretty nicely, the left glove has pretty much no wear on the palm, and on the right glove there is a little bit of wear and wrinkling on the outside section of the palm. But so far they have been sweet.

MDE3 is right, I own ealge x80's and I tried on some XX and XXX gloves at hockey giant today, the cuff is pretty loose, but a little tighter fit than eagles. I definatly liked them though. If I had $150 laying arounf, I would be all over these.

I'm not going to buy anything from the States, pretty much the whole reason I'm getting a new pair of gloves is because I got a gift certificate for my LHS. I would've had them today, but they didn't have the color I want.

Not sure if it's too late now, but I've had XV's for a week but ended up returning them. They felt fine in the store, good mobility all around, good finger lengths. I tried stickhandling a bit at home and found the palms felt too thin for me. The gloves felt like they were going to fall off my hands at times, looser than the Warp Zeros I've had for years (which I also really like).
