Stewie 721 Report post Posted November 24, 2014 interesting. Obviously without knowing all the details, seems like It could be a nice acquisition given it already has tenants, and has a much larger capacity than the ice cube.

Neal 41 Report post Posted December 2, 2014 I guess the dues will be going up next yearExactly! Love seeing USA hockey dedicating more of the regular players' money to the development of elite players!
Hordie Gowe 17 Report post Posted December 13, 2014 Lot of memories from that arena from the mid/late 90's. Still have my Compuware orange and brown Hespeler Classic RTX's gloves from those teams. Am interested in what the final cost on the building would be. The real estate the building is on is very desirable and the surrounding area is doing well. Stewie 721 Report post Posted December 13, 2014 yeah, I don't think this will raise our dues, you already have tenants, and can make money from holding tournaments/concerts/etc. its not like they are buying it, kicking everyone out, and having USA hockey 24/7 in there. Hordie Gowe 17 Report post Posted December 13, 2014 With the Whalers likely leaving SE Michigan (latest rumor was Chatham ON) USA hockey will essentially be taking their spot as the primary group in the building. I know they have struggled to utilize the arena for non ice related events outside of an indoor soccer team that folded and events during graduation season.
