Vapor XXX skates sizing

I ordered custom Vapor XXX skates a bit ago in a size 8 but I hear that they are running a .5 size smaller than the Vapor XXs. When they come in Friday are they going to be .5 size too big for me, or do you guys who went .5 size down think it was just your foot?

I'm gonna be flippin' shit if they're too big.

This may not be much help but here goes,

I just got my Vapor XXX skates today, they seem to fit almost like my previous skates ('02 model bauer vapor 6) maybe a little bigger. My guess is, it is due to the thinner tongue.

Just wondering, are your customs the "pro" models with the different holder and non perf blade?

Oh, and were you measured for them as well?

I was measured as if I were ordering Vapor XXs through a guy "that has an in."

These are considered pro stock because they have many custom options on them.

Mine will come with the non-perf blade, yes.

My only concern is they will be too big, as guys on this board have said they went down .5 size from the Vapor XXs.

I wouldn't worry too much. You might want to touch base with the guy guy that just got his XXX's (having the holder alignment problem). I believe he had the XX's before.

A good point to remember is that, the pro models come with a thicker tongue, bigger (or thicker?) ankle pads, so that may make a difference if indeed the .5 size difference between the xx and xxx is correct.

All of this is true, but I basically have it all customized to the way I like it.

I got a AA heel, E width, 1/2 of what the ankle packs on my custom XX's were, a completely different tongue with white felt, pro stiffness, and they had some weird option with the top eyelet being lower than retail, so I got that, also. They are gonna tinker the arches too, since mine are so high.

I just hope the damn things fit me.

I can assure you that Vapor XX & XXX have the same fit using the same lasts, however, if you order custom skates from our pro shop with different specs the size may change since the boot is being customized for your specific foot.

How is that?

So you can get a totally different tongue, your own stiffness, your own heel size, and whatever size ankle packs you want?

Just wondering if you got them yet.

I have been wearing mine around the house, and they are feeling pretty good right now. They fit exactly like my Vapor 6's (I had initially thought they were bigger) Although the XXX's are a little tighter in the forefoot area.
