Reebok 11K and 20K Tapered Shafts

Recommended Posts

I recall a lot of the move from the 11K to 20K line was purely model number and cosmetic changes at least for the skates. Wondering if this was true for the shafts as well and if anyone has experience with the reebok shaft/blade combos. Thanks!

not sure what the answer is, but reading this question, I assume you know that you can get a blade free when you buy the shaft on HM right now.

I picked up two of the 11k shafts with blades and got them yesterday. I won't use them until Monday but my first impressions are very good, especially for the price. Very light stick for sure. I typically use 100 flex sticks, but I got 85 on these as I heard they play pretty stiff. Just flexing it at home I would say that is true.

Yeah I think I'm sold. I've recently grown to like Bauer's P14 Toews curve a lot and can't decide whether the Hedman or Crosby curve is better for me. The Hedman's curve seems positioned closer to the toe, but the Crosby is more open. I've heard the Hedman is a P88 clone so I'm leaning that way, just hoping I can still get off those quick top shelf snappers like I can with the P14. I've been searching for a P14 tapered replacement blade everywhere but they seem like a rare species.

Jrbears, just a question, did the shafts and blades come assembled or separate?

They come separate. Regarding the curves, I got the P87A and it is basically identical to the Easton Sakic/Hall blades I have, so it would be a little different than the P14 if that is what you are looking for.

One thing to keep in mind, the 11K is a full grip stick and the 20K has a two-tone kind of grip on it.

I don't particularly like grip. would you say the 20k with it's "two-tone grip" is more or less grippy than the 11k, overall. Wondering which I should go with as someone who wants it the least grippy as possible.
