Favorite "shame" band of all time

Recommended Posts

Generally I listen to late 80's/early 90's hair band rock (yes the same bands that RadioGaGa feels shame for, I listen to on a regular basis....).

However.... I frequently listen to and own several Hootie and the Blowfish CDs. The only band in the little known category known as "golf rock".

All aboard the shame train!

Whats with people listing Elton John under shame music? Some of his old stuff is pretty wicked, and he's made some great tunes that have hung around for a while. Lots of the other ones I can see being a shame band, but Elton John's doesn't really fit into the same category as ABBA or Ace of Base in my opinion.

I don't think you can say Elton is wicked, thats a bit offside.

Me, I can fess up to a lot of bad/great 80's stuff. Reminds me of a greater time, being a kid with a bmx bike and neon clothes and atari's and watching GI JOE and Transformers. Classic one hit wonders are my guilty pleasure.

Journey may be my fav.

And who the hell said The Police??? Maybe Sting is shame material today, but The Police made damn good music. Then Sting left and he decided to suck.

"Private eyes, (clap) are watching you. (clap clap)" .........JR I feel you on the Hall and Oates

Chalk up another vote for Journey here. Others of mine are Whitesnake, any non-gospel Jim Nabors, Air Supply, and Donna Summer.

Elton John not wicked? What about Madman Across the Water, Bennie and the Jets, Someone Saved my Life Tonight... the list goes on. Though I suppose you'd have to include Elton John if you're talkin' I'm Still Standing and Goodbye England's Rose or something. Also, Simon and Garfunkel can NOT be included on any guilty pleasures list.

Madonna, Elton John, Micheal Jackson, but I wouldnt say that I'm "ashamed" of that, they're all great artists in my opinion.

umm, I really like Enrique Iglesias's music

I am glad I am not the only one who is familiar with the 80's.

How about Milli Vanilli? The ultimate "shame band" of the 80's.

Me too...

Also, Janes Addiction & Ministry.....

CFNY in Toronto had the best alternative music. Recently got a mp3 player & been trying find places to download that kind of music.

I went to a X-mas party for my son's team & a bunch of other couples were reliving a recent Journey concert. They were gushing about how great it was

& all that I missed. I had to pretend I was a fan while my wife & I tried not to gag.

I vote for Journey.
