Mission pure fly's--now what?

Recommended Posts

hello all, first post here! i have played my whole life but took an extended hiatus and have now been back in the mens league sceene for a session or so. I have rocked a pair of 03-04 mission pure fly's since i came across them in 06ish. i destroyed one pair and was able to track down another around 08, these are the skates i am playing on today and they are in dire shape. I am looking for a replacement and doubt i will find another pair. So, where do you recomend i begin looking for something similar?

I like the comfort of the missions, the agressive forward flex, and at the time they were considered crazy light. I really can't describe my foot shape that well, i would just say average, possibly a slightly smaller heal relative to my forefoot but that just me making guessing. Is diagnosing this where i should start? I figured i would throw this all out there before heading to the lhs. I know you cannot diagnose the best fit for me but a general direction would be great. I came across an attractive deal on a pair of rbz's and have always liked the quality of graf's. any input is helpful.

I've never even heard of alkali but will check it out. Not that need a featherlight boot by any means but why is it so hard to track down Graf weights? What are some of the heavier and lighter models?

How many folks are running inline boots on ice? How do they hold up? I get they are more pitched but can you please comment on overall stiffness. thanks all.

Check out the roller forum for all you need to know about Alkali. I designed your current skates and designed the alkali models. I have been on a pair of Alkali ice skates for two years, and they are still holding up great.

Could you post a picture of them? This could be a solution for me, since I have trouble finding a good fitting ice skate.

Could Alkali Custom make them in-house? Or sell just the boots?

They don't sell boot only and don't sell direct. I would contact Monkey, Inline warehouse, or Total hockey and see what they could do for you. They may offer you a discount if you give them the wheels/chassis.
