Integral hockey sticks

Recommended Posts

Anyone use or know of someone who has used top end sticks that where repaired by integral hockey?

My backup stick is feeling a bit soft lately (vapor x100) and i want a apx2 again but cant spend the money atm.

I can get a repaired apx2 for $60. Apperntly there is no performance difference between a new stick vs a repaired one?

Any truth to that?

I bought two 1X's from another company that uses the same repair process. I haven't been able to use them in a game, only practice. They feel pretty good though. I'm not good enough to pay $270 for a brand new stick, lol. Most of the sticks should have a good amount of life left because they buy them from college and minor teams, and the average stick life span there is around 1 week.

I can't speak to their specific process but I have used a couple repaired sticks and they were all easily identifiable as different in some way.

Im going to pull the trigger and get a apx2 or 1x from this stick repair shop. The reviews i found where hit and miss, but for under $80 its worth a risk.

My only stick will bite the dust soon..

Ill report back after i play a few games with this bandged twig.

Keep'r sleazy.

What do you mean by different? Just the balance? That makes sense because it adds about 25 grams to wherever the stick broke at.

I ended up getting a apx2 p14 in a int 67 flex. The stick was a 9/10 shape wise, like it snapped during the first game. There was no marks on the blade or shaft( from game action or damage cover ups).

im 5,8 160 so it falls in line with flex to weight thing. My last two twigs where north of that scale, a 77 flex vapor x100 p92 and nexus 1000 p88 87 flex.

I played a league game lastnight and used the new (to me) stick and i have to say it performed great. Lots of pop, great puck feel, didnt feel pingy or hollow like i expected a former 1 piece stick to feel like plugged and glued back together, nor did it feel off balanced from the insert and glue used to fuse the thing back together. I took big one timers and slapshots in warm up and during the game and stick didnt falter one bit.

The pop was so awesome i surprised myself with a couple of laser beam snappers, plus this 67 flex, uncut, was so easy to load in mid stride compared to the senior flex sticks i have. Like game changer quick realase action

All in all worth the $80. Now if i can only find a intermideate stick that had senior shaft dimensions id be in love.

There is a team I play against that uses a lot of the repaired sticks (they have a connection to integral)

One of their defensemen had integral "repair" a CCM superfast blade and taper to I believe a bauer shaft. It sure is an interesting looking stick.

If the stick is broken or repaired in the flex zone , then like Chadd said its just noticeably different. Stiffer , different feel because of the resin fill etc..

The stick i got is a pro stock from the local WHL team. The team sends all there broken sticks to him, he fixes them, and sends them bsck to the players to use at practise.

My stick broke where one would put there bottom hand for a big clapper.

It feels really good, no balance issues, only one game in so who knows how itll hold up..Also, lifetime warranty if the stick breaks im the repaired area.

Ill buy another twig from him, but ill look for a stick that was broken as far away from the blade as possible. I would figure having all that extra material so close to the blade could make a high end stick feel blade heavy
