moejoe3117 1 Report post Posted February 15, 2016 What's the best wheel for wood floor with a roll-on coat?
Vet88 674 Report post Posted February 15, 2016 What weight are you? Plenty of grip on this type of floor, my experience on these floors is a single pour wheel around the 78A mark. Check the wheel matrix that Labeda have put together:http://labeda.com/choosing-the-correct-wheels/
moejoe3117 1 Report post Posted February 15, 2016 I weigh 210, and the wheels on the matrix do not last long on it. Had some good some bad addictions. Best was revision steel, hard to find.
althoma1 574 Report post Posted February 15, 2016 The Labeda charts don't recommend the Addictions for wood or roll on - only Ice Court and Sport Court. For Wood and Sport Court they recommend yellow medium grippers (78a). I haven't played on wood in a long time, but remember using hard single pour wheels on that surface since it already provides a lot of grip. I think a good 78a or even 80a single pour wheel would do the trick.Revision steels are great wheels and I use them on Sport Court, but for a wood roll on surface you'd probably be better off with the Revision Axis Multi-Surface 78a wheels. The bonus for you is that the single pour wheels are generally cheaper than the more expensive multi-pour wheels.
moejoe3117 1 Report post Posted February 15, 2016 How about red star?
althoma1 574 Report post Posted February 15, 2016 I haven't used any of the recent red star wheels, but would think the 78a spitfires would be what you'd want in that brand. They're 4.99 on the hockeymonkey site.
fussellino 2 Report post Posted February 16, 2016 Labeda shooters are good, I have a set, and recently got a set of RR World cup wheels which are fast yet still pretty good on grip.
Wicked3Aussie 68 Report post Posted February 16, 2016 I use older Rink rat hot shot X wheels on wood.I can't find anything else that are as fast or will hold an edge as well on wood.I've stock piled them. lol
moejoe3117 1 Report post Posted February 16, 2016 Rink rat splits worked well until they pull away from the hub.
jmiro 55 Report post Posted February 17, 2016 We have been playing on a wood court with an epoxy coat on a couple times a week for the last couple months. I am 190. Here is what I have tried. Labeda millenniums x soft. Way to much grip. Red star tritons 74a. Once again to much grip. Labeda asphalts (yea for got my other sets). Big failboat there. My buddy is heavier than I am was running 76 grippers he thought they were to soft. I went to labeda shooters as did he. That's what we are running now on issues.
