Hockey Backpack - Okay for Adult Medium Gear?

Recommended Posts

Hey all, I just picked up a new hockey bag at lunch, the Bauer Premium Backpack for $25 on season clearance. This is my first hockey bag so just wondering if I made a wise choice. I am an adult rec player with all medium sized gear. The dimensions of the bag are roughly Medium: 26" x 16" x 18".

Will this fit my gear (still have to buy a few more pieces) comfortably?

I have the medium. Its a good size for my inline hockey gear, but I wouldn't be able to fit all my ice gear in there comfortably, ice pants and shoulder pads would take up a considerable amount of the bag.  I feel like the Large size would be much better for ice hockey gear, without having to do some crazy tetris.

For gear size reference, I wear medium or large depending on the piece.

Thanks for the feedback guys. The bag is great and I really like the side ventilated skate pockets, however, the main compartment is pretty small. I placed my gloves, helmet with cage, jock and change of cloths in there and it was starting to get pretty crammed. I may return and continue my search for a decent sized carry back with pockets, under $79 which they all seem to be for a quality bag.

Just grab the large Alkali backpack. It runs $69 and I haven't used one, but I have seen it in store when I was in the US for a modsquadhockey event and it seemed like a much better backpack than all the others. I already have multiple carry bags, but if I decide to buy a backpack that would definitely be the one I would buy.

I just bought one of these and LOVE it. All the benefits of a GRIT bag, with the benefit of it being a carry bag (basically a one strapped backpack, so more like a sling bag). Great price, especially with free shipping.
