whats better than Bauer nexus for defenseman

Recommended Posts

I have a bauer nexus 7000 105 flex mid kick with pm9 blade.   Im looking for a new stick for under $150 that can take slap shot beatings. Also what is the next step from a pm9 ( a little more curve)? Im open to any brand. Im a 240 lb 6'3" guy also.

Try a P88 for a bit more curve..but nothing "crazy".

Perhaps try a Bauer S180 for your budget..

I recently went from a Nexus N8000 to a Supreme S180..im absolutely in love with the supreme!

Changing to a pattern with a higher lie like p88 lie 6 might really throw you off.  If you want more curve try something like a p92L5 or a TC2.5 -  Easier to transition to a new curve with a similar lie than a pattern with a higher lie.

The P88 has a load of rocker on the heel- its something that should be quite easy to adjust to. I've always found it plays lower in lie then say like a P92.

Zac are you a representative for True. If so, ive always wanted to try a True stick, but no one stocks them here in the UK :(

I would pick up a high end stick that's discounted, like an Easton HTX or an MX3. I don't have the HTX but I have a V9 and it seems pretty durable. The MX3 is just a tank IMO.

I use the Sherwood T90, really solid for the price also the t100, t120 are pretty good to.

If you're looking to try something different in the same lie, here are the other patterns we offer in Lie 5:

-BM19 Sakic (probably the next step up from a PM9 - not as deep as the Backstrom)

-BC92 Backstrom

-BM12 Iginla (closed and mild like the PM9, but more of a mid instead of a mid-heel)

-BC01/BC10 Hossa/Russell Pro (pretty radical change from the PM9 - big pure toe curve)

We also have a few patterns in left handed only:

-BC02 Salvador

-BC07 Ronning

-BC17 Edmondson

-BC21 Gusev

-BC22 Kaberle

Let me know if you'd like some pics.
