reebok 9k girdle hockey pants Is anyone still gaming the Reebok 9K Girdle?!

Hey guys I just picked up a very lightly used almost new 9K girdle and Pro Stock CCM shell combo from my local ECHL end of year equipment sale... I'm just wondering how many of you are gaming this girdle, and also I'm concerned it may be to big because I had to buy a size large since it was the only one that was in almost new condition.  I'm 5'8" 180lbs, 32" waist muscular build with bigger legs and butt, for my height. Do you think it will fit me if I adjust the thigh guards to the shortest length and use a small or medium shell over top? I have really been wanting one of these for a while now and finally found this one... Just concerned it may be a little to big. Let me know what you guys think!

Lots of folks here wear 9K and many swear by it.

I've been interested in 9K girdle as well but decided to stick with Dynasty girdle for 1) price and 2) I don't really need all that protection playing in non-contact leagues.

 

But size wise, I'm 5'-10", 160lb, 30" waist. I've always been in medium pants/girdles. Never been a big fan of bulky bottom so haven't really tried on large pants/girdles. For your physique, large may be on the big side but I'm not sure how adjustable 9K is so you may be able to get away with it. Sorry not much of help here. I'm sure a 9K owner will be able to better comment on this one....

Thanks for the info! I currently have a Bauer total one NXG girdle combo in a size small but honestly would be better off in a medium... I think that may be why the two size jump from my current NXG's to the 9K worries me a little bit. But I just tried the 9K on at the house (without the shell) and it seems to fit alright if I adjust everything to it's smallest setting. Maybe I'll try it on the ice tomorrow.

The 9k runs small in size, I'm a medium in Bauer girdles but a 9k medium on me is tightish fit. You are a little bit bigger than me so a large should fit you fine. And imho the 9k is still the gold standard for girdles, you can't go wrong in one of them.

Thanks for your response Vett88. Do you think I would be able to get away with throwing a small shell over top?

Yep the 9k runs small.

 

As for shells general rule of thumb I've found is to go a size or two smaller than the girdle size you're using. Unless you are using a specific girdle shell in which case just go for the closest size to your waist measurement.

**Edit: I use an XL 9k girdle and XL warrior syko shells. The XL shells on the XL girdle float in the legs and sag in the butt. I'll be buying large shells from now on.
