Man I went to my mother's house this week and went thru the team bags I had in her house and I can't wait to get back on ice. I'm even going to go woman and try some Hull "Z-Bubbles" that are whippy as hell.

I'm going to make a handle for it this week and see if I can get a feel of it but I'm more amped over some of the blades I've seen. I found some Krupp Z-Carbs that may be the ugliest pretty things I've ever seen.

Bauer Triflex practice sticks

Are you a pro or ex-pro? Why on earth would you need so many sticks to play this game? Ditto to Cam04 and others you have thousands of dollars worth of sticks. How many sticks do you use at a time? I think the rules say one......

Ok. This is facinating to me (in a nonjudgmental way). If you will indulge me a bit....Do you use a different stick each time you play or practice? Do you have so many because you are searching for the one that feels best? What stick did you start with (woodie or composite), and what kind of blade was it? Finally, do you sell or give away the ones that you feel do not work for you?

I'm thread-jacking a little here (this is being talked about in the Back to Basics topic), but your answer -- and those of anyone else who also have such a massive stockpile of pretty expensive sticks -- will help me to understand where you guys are coming from as players new to the game. Thanks....

Green Z-bubble

Cut M-1 tapered shaft

Easton UltraLite(junior flex, got from a member here but feels like an 85flex <_<, you know who you are )

100 flex. Not right now, but training camp is less than a month away so I should be getting around 20-30 twigs to replace it. I'll send you a pm when the time comes.

Fixed that for you.

????

If you can't skate, what difference does 20 Pro Stock sticks make? Can anyone else help me out with this beside the GAS/Gear Whore explanation? I only know one guy I play hockey with who hoards sticks and gear -- and that's because he runs a developmental hockey program for adult beginners and gives them free equipment and sticks if they need it once they've signed up.

I'm prob coming off like a pretentious jerk, but I just don't understand this. I guess I'm just old school in that we always bascially wore our gear used our sticks to the point of disintegration and unrepairable breakage. It was almost "uncool" to get new stuff. The older the stuff, the more "bragging rights" one had, so to speak. It seems to be the opposite with kids and beginners these days....

I can skate though. The bigger challenge is finding someone that can knock me down without drawing a penalty or my ire. Those going to the MSH skate/pub crawl will find out soon enough.

Man how have they lasted you that long, or did you stock pile them when you had the chance?

I use the Easton Synthesis with a pro-stock blade that is like the Drury pattern. I also have a CCM Vector as a backup. The stick I used to use is no longer on the market. I started out years ago with a Canadien 6001, the white and blue one. If anyone knows where I could get one(or more) of these sticks (rt handed) please let me know. I know it's a long shot but every now and then you can find people who have left overs they never sold of older models no longer available. I would really appreciate being able to find this stick again.

Actually, I haven't broken one yet after rotating the same two for over a year. Contrary to my playing style, I don't break shafts. I can't explain it.
