A. Yes (96% sure).

C. No (100% sure: Shift and Shift Max are the only switch holders I’m aware of—that is a Shift (Max) holder is one shape that goes on a left or right skate whereas the others have a left holder and a right holder and they can’t mix and match holder sides and skate sides, so they’re not going to line up with the Shift (Max) holes).

B. Sounds right but I can’t remember the specifics.

A: Yes

B: Shift steel can work in the standard Shift holder or the Shift Max holder. Shift Max steel cannot be used in the standard Shift holder, as it has a locking tang on the end. 

C: No. Every other brand of holder will require drilling.

I'm leaning towards putting heel lifts on mine. I like the holder, but I feel like I'm not forward enough, especially on starts. My favorite holder and steel spec has been the classic Graf Cobra 11' radius with aggressive pitch. Does anyone have a suggestion on how much of a heel lift I should request to achieve that feel on my Cat7s?

If you want to test the heel lift before making significant modifications, you could buy these:

If you want to just do the heel lift, I would start with 1-1.5mm

Question for the hive. I just got a pair of Cat 7's. Love the boot, but I feel I am pitched too far forward.  Coming from Bauer One100's with a 1.5mm heel lift on LS2 (which I loved), and the True's feel quite a bit more forward, where it feels like I am falling forward with skating backwards. 

Wondering what people would recommend to achieve a similar pitch?  Should I put a 1.5-3mm shim on the toe of the Shift Max?  Or, should I just put on the LS 2's on the Cat 7's?  (which would mean drilling the boot, and drilling the sole as well to get access to the holder, if a blade needs changing).

Sounds like a profiling adjustment would be in order instead of "renovating" the boot to holder interface.  Believe the stock profile on the True blades is a 9'/10' combo.
