Shock Doctor Foot Inserts

Recommended Posts

Don't know whether they'll help anyone out who is flat footed, however they are great insoles. It's the only insole I use in my skates anymore, 100 times better than most stock insoles.

The stock insoles in my Tacks wore out quite a while ago and I was just using regular sport insoles, and they were brutal...kept shifting, bunching up...just really uncomforatble. I recently bought Shock Dr's and I love them...very comfortable...I don't know how much support they offer, but I like them.

I have CCM Externo E60s right now. Would it be an upgrade?

Also, do I need to have them rebaked?

The Shock Doctor's are great insoles, however if you're having a problem with your skate they will not compensate for any problems. After a few skates the insoles will take the form of the boot, built in arch, everything. If you have a skate that already fits you perfectly, they're great replacements for stock insoles but if you're having foot problems and are looking for an insole to fix your problems these certainly will not help.

I've tried and own almost every insole on the market (Superfeet, Sole Ultras and Regulars, Shock Doctors, CCM and Bauer stock insoles, various Dr. Scholls, etc.) so feel free to ask me any questions about any insole and i'll be glad to answer them. What specifically are you looking for? More cushioning in the hell, metatarsel, forefoot, etc.?

The Shock Doctors are GREAT replacements for stock insoles however if you're planning on buying only one insole, I highly recommend the SuperFeet gray's. Of all the insoles i've tried, Superfeet are by far the absolute best.

Pretty much any insole on the market will take the form of the built in arch support of the boot except for the Sole's which you can heat mold to your foot. Both the Superfeet and Sole's have something like 30 day money back guarantees, I believe Sole's have 60 or 90 days which is great so you've really got nothing to lose.

I pretty much have no arch in my foot. My sports med. Doctor got me these ankle braces (one of the teams in the NCAA Tourney, the whole team had them) to help correcting my flat feet outisde of spending hundreds on custom orthodics.

I was just looking for something to help increase arch support.

I don't really like the bauer insoles, they were inside my 8090s and they even slid around when I was lacing them up in the store. I switched to shock doctors and they are alot stiffer and do not slip. My friend often complains about the bauer insoles slipping.

If you want to INCREASE the arch support, Superfeet insoles are the best for doing that, bar none. Superfeet insoles unlike every other insole have a plastic pocket going all the way from the heel to the middle of the foot where the arch is, if you're looking for added arch support Superfeet insoles are the best for the job. Also, I recommend going to a drug store or shoe repair store and buying some leather arch supports if you don't want new insoles, but Superfeet will just make your feet feel great in your skate.

Same thing happened to me with my Bauer insoles, I skate with no socks so about half way through a game when my feet get really sweating the Bauer insole will stick and shift around, albeit very slightly I can feel them shifting and it's annoying and really effects my skating.

Does your skating ability suffer with these kind of foot? Isn't Jagr and Forsberg that also have flat feet?

His skating ability shouldn't suffer as long as his skates fit him properly.

I replaced the Graf insoles in my 705 teclites with the shockdoc ones (BTW I have flat feet). It changes the skating feeling a lot, to the better. I just bought a 2nd pair for my roller skates.

And I wouldn't say that they don't help with foot problems. I have splayfoot issues (resulting in the outer front ball of each foot hurting after prolonged times of skating or even running) and the shockdocs have a feature to help with it. The small triangular dome on the front part prevents the splayfoot-thing by supporting the traverse arch.

Note: Splayfoot is a weakness of the traverse arch of the foot. In fact you foot has two arches, the lengthwise arch everybody knows and a traverse arch between the front balls. If the traverse arch is weakened, this arch will collapse with every step resulting in the outer ball of the front foot hurting. It's not THAT bad with hockey as you don't have a rolling motion of the foot like when walking or running.

When I first started skating yes, but I also had the wrong size skates. I am about an 11/11.5 shoe and I am now wearing an 8.5 CCM skate.

The ankle braces help alot, but I feel like my ankles are turning in sometimes still.
