bl4 39 Report post Posted December 13, 2022 I realize that this has been addressed over the years, but it looks like it's been a while since the last thread and skate tech has changed. What's the current wisdom on how long to wait after baking new skates before skating? Thanks!
Sniper9 530 Report post Posted December 13, 2022 Ideally overnight/24 hrs. I'm sure many people have broken this rule though. The less glue, the less issues. So I would assume true and ccm without having outsoles etc won't have as many issues if you use them same day. Bauer's outsole can be iffy as I've seen the glue on even the demo skates not bonded very well.
birky 24 Report post Posted December 14, 2022 True says minimum 4 hours, ideally 24.
Westside 232 Report post Posted December 14, 2022 I, personally, always wait until the next day. I’ve never been in so much of a rush that I’ve needed skates that day and either couldn’t wait or didn’t have a backup pair to use
shoot_the_goalie 281 Report post Posted December 14, 2022 I usually wait minimum 24 hours. Sometimes 48. I know that's being conservative, but why chance it? 1
