caseyjones 26 Report post Posted January 19 Been going crazy looking for a new set of shoulders. I just bought Sherwood rekker shoulders and they feel great. Basically a more protective 5030 but there’s something with the shoulder caps where my jersey keeps getting stuck between the gap between the shoulder caps and my armpit area. It’s driving me crazy. It looks ridiculous. I’m trying to find a solution for it. I also cut the sternum protector off and am going to sew it to the inside of the jacket so it doesn’t protrude from the front. Thats another thing that annoys me. I’ve been looking at the ccm line. Does anyone have experience with the following pads? ccm rbz pro stock model from ice warehouse ccm quicklite pro stock model from ice warehouse all of the current jetspeed ft line. Going to pure hockey today to try some ccm ultra tacks older line. basically looking for lightweight mobility. All of these pads are more than protective enough for what I’m looking for. I don’t want to feel like a refrigerator. The focus is always towards smaller shoulder caps but the new chest and back protection seems pretty bulky on a lot of the new pads. Westside 243 Report post Posted January 19 I used the quicklites for years. Really liked them. At the time I was trying to find a pad that didn’t cause me to overheat and these were what I landed on. Eventually moved onto CLs which breathed better and since the interior is entirely zote foam it didn’t retain any sweat and stayed ‘cleaner’ longer. Tried FT4 Pros which I felt didn’t breathe at all. I’m currently using FT6 Pros which I really like. IMO they’re the true successor to the CL line. caseyjones 26 Report post Posted January 20 Thanks for the reply. I was able to try on the ft6 and ft6 pros today. They really do feel like a feather. I tried on every pair at pure hockey. I came away feeling like that I liked my sherwoods best, which is good since I already cut the sternum protector off of them. I did order the quicklites so I’m going to try them out. I feel like at the end of the day I’ll likely stick with the sherwoods. They are the lowest profile of all of them. shoot_the_goalie 281 Report post Posted January 24 I loved the RBZ when I was wearing them. Quicklites, were more "boxy" to me and didn't love them. I'm in FT4 Pros now which I love, except for that small protrusion on the top of the backplate which always gets caught on my jerseys. FT6 I believe has it as well. FT6 I believe has it as well. If you're referring to the spine protector, the FT6 line added a 'hinge' so that portion moved with your body and didn't stick straight up like he FT4 line.
