Switched from Edge Holder to XS Holder – Feel Slower?

Hey everyone,
I recently switched from the Edge holder to the XS holder and noticed something strange — I feel slower and less responsive overall. Has anyone else experienced this?

I’m wondering if it’s just in my head or if there's actually a difference in performance or feel between the two holders. Would love to hear your thoughts or experiences.

I have not ever used any holder other than the TUUKS. Tell us if you can. Are you actually slower? Meaning, are you losing races to the puck against players that you had beaten before? How long have you been on them? Could be just an adjustment period. What steel are you using in them? Are you using the basic steel whereas you may have been using a better quality steel in your Edge holders? Maybe a deeper hollow on these?

Since the runners are not interchangeable you are likely experiencing a difference in profiles. Try having the new runners (blades) profiled to something that is close to your old runners and see how that feels.

Using the same hollow and profile.  Using bladetech steel.  I just feel like response and pop if that makes sense.

Curious, Why did you switch to SX in the first place?

stiffer holder and I like the mechanism better than the trigger on the edge. maybe a better holder

Well I guess you can either give it some time and see if you don't improve or switch back. That's the beauty of options. I've considered moving to SX just for the Step Steel but in the end I decided to just stick with what I have.

i have two sets of the same skate.  maybe one set edge and the other xs

When I moved from Bauer to True I also switched from Tuuk to XS. Don’t recall any noticeable difference in the holder and I was using the same type of steel in both holders. The boot made the obvious difference to me. 

While I never had any durability issues with the trigger, the dial is easier to replace if needed
