vibration issues lol

I recently picked up a XN10 whip morrow and i love the stick but it gets terrible vibrations. is there anything i can do to stop that. lol i hope you understand what i mean when i say vibrations.

maybe a thicker knob to absorb some of those vibrations or spirling tape down the shaft aswell?

I can second that. To me, the XN10 felt very brittle in the beginning (someone correctly called it a "ceramic" feeling). After about three times of use it goes away completely.

If you don't mind adding a bit of weight, my friend tried pulling off a Si-core/XN-10. He baught regular tubed silicone from a local hard ware store and took off his butt end and shot it down into the shaft. Call me crazy but he did it and he said it got a bit heavier but the vibration went away.

Hmmm.... what about using that "crack" foam (you know the stuff, right - comes in a can and you spray it in small openings and it foams out and hardens into a hard cotton candy looking gunk)?

Gotta be lighter than silicone. Only problem I foresee is getting a nozzle long enough to get the foam in the lower part of the shaft (the nozzle it comes with is only 12 inches).

However, I'd like just learn to live with it if I were you. Remember the first time you used a composite blade? It was tough adjusting when recieving passes. This is likely the same thing. Before you know it, you won't even notice it.

It does make me wonder aloud, however. Some stick companies used to fill the shafts up with foam. Have the lastest releases decided to shave some grams by not using it?

Hespeler put rubber inserts just above the blade and just below your hands in the Alpha Nemesis. I may throw them in my R2XN10 just for the hell of it.

There is not a tapered alpha nemesis blade. Standard alpha blades are only available at Sportchecks in Canada now.

Check out the latest Hockey News that has an equipment review section. In it, Louisville has a new stick coming out called the Adrenaline, that upon quick glance, at least, sounds like it is an XN10 built for better durability and (more to the point regarding your problem) built in vibration dampners which they call Shock Relief.
