The durability is TERRIBLE!!!! Any store owners out there should be VERY cautious when buying them. We ordered a bunch and about 50% break. Pucks hit that dial and it breaks, the wire comes undone, they pop open when the kids are playing...they are TERRIBLE! (And yes, they were the same in 04 I believe)

I think they only put the Boa system on kid skates. I'm not 100% sure, but that would make a lot of sense looking at the feedback here!

Wow, you must have got a bad batch. I've sold lots of them and ZERO problems whatsoever, on any pair. In fact it is impossible for the dial to pop out from skating, or for the cable to slip out. The dial itself is ABS plastic, similar to the plastic in holders and other parts of many skates. I seriously doubt it breaks from shots at the youth level. Now a skate blade glancing over the cable could cut a strand or two, but never cut through it. 50% problem rate, I doubt it. BOA has tested their system for years.
