Si-core technology

Whos tried this? Do you think the "si-core" actually helps you with the feel of the puck or is it all mental? Im deciding between this and an x-1.....Ive never owned anything si-core, so I was looking for opinions....

I have a si core Z-carbon paired with my ultra lite. It seems blade heavy much like most of the orange si cores I have held. I don't notice much of advantage in the shooting while feel is slightly improved. I have never used a one piece si core but would say go for the si core if you don't mind having your stick being blade heavy. I have never seen a X-1 in person so I can't compare the two.

I cant say for a Si-core OPS, but this still might help. I was using a regular Focus Flex Modano in my TPS Rubber, then I got a Si-core Focus Flex for x-mas. There is a definate increase in feel over the regular gray one. I even put the gray one back in my Rubber after a game, and the Si-core definately has better feel. The Sillicone in the SI-core blade is definately a plus.

my last 2 blades have been orange si core modanos, and i agree with everything said so far. i fell in love with the feel immediately, but i also noticed my stick to be a little blade-heavy compared to a OPS (I have it in a v120 shaft, broken OPS). The weight doesn't bother me though.. its noticeable but not drastic where it makes the stick feel real unbalanced.

Areas i feel i noticed the greatest difference with the si-core were catching passes and on snapshots

I used a Pro-stock Si-core and when I held it, it was a bit blade heavy but nothing I'd grip about. Coming from a regular synergy you could deffinatly tell the feel was better, but it doesn't have OUTSTANDING feel to it. If feel was a major atribute I cared about I would deffinatly use a woody, but other than that the XX and Inno both create better feel IMO than the Si-Core.

This was a pointless post. Please don't contribute unless you have something to add about the topic.

I've only used it shooting around, never in games, but like has been said...the blade opened on me like crazy. Plus I've seen them break like crazy, they don't break like normal graphite blades, they tend to just buckle.

I have a SyNergy Si-Core and I like the feel of it. My shot doesnt jump off the blade as well. The feel is only slightly improved, and I think thats its mental too.

I've had a friends get two si-core blades this year. Both ended up just coming apart. The two sides of the blade just split aprt on both.

I've used my Si-core Focus Flex at least 30 times since I got it. Havent had any of the problems with opening or durabilty. In fact I think I catch passes better with it than my old grey one. Everyones blades are different though.......................

it "opens up" because the blade isn't stiff like a normal graphite blade (which, when you think about it...wasn't constant stiffness the reason graphite blades started being produced?) so because it's a softer construction the toe of the blade will open up on a shot. think of it similar to the effect of opening your bottom shoulder up early on a slapshot.

The feel is fantastic, but the pop on the blade leaves a lot to be desired. The puck doesn't explode off the Si-Core like it does with my new SL.
