If you do a search you can find some more topics. However, I tried them on but opted for 8090s. Classic Golds are a leather skate like Easton SBX series. They are an awesome skate for the price though, but they aren't as light as the newer high end skates.

In my opinion, they are by far the best skate on the market in the ~$200 price range, of course this is without factoring in any top of the line skates that are on closeout in that same price range like Pro Tacks.

If they fit you properly, definitely go for them, they're extremely high quality.

You're seeing lots of these on the markets going for cheap because Bauer isn't making them anymore. There aren't any problems with the quality, the Gold's are just a tad heavier compared to higher-end models, and the trend is toward light skates right now.

If you're fairly new to skating and these fit well they'll suit you just fine. Even if you're a couple steps ahead they're still fine. If you're looking for a top of the line, loaded with the latest features and marketing gimmicks, then the Golds will not do.

I almost bought a pair when they first came out but they didn't fit me as well as CCM's.

I own a pair, they've been great skates for me. I like them much more than the 705s i owned before them. They break in fairly easily after a trip to the oven. I also really like the more classic look they have.

At the price they're at now, you can't go wrong.

I have a pair and they come up fairly high on the ankle I did not lace them up all the way to the top to get some forward flex, and being a leather skate when they got wet they were fairly heavy but overall a good skate for the money if bauer fits you.
