stick handling practice ball

Recommended Posts

Every time someone in the shop asks about them, I just say "Yeah, Vinny's gotta eat. The lockout's hurting him."

A little off topic, but you guys will love this article and the pics are awesome too. Over in Russia Vinny actually had to use ketchup as spaghetti sauce, half the time when he ordered something they brought something entirely different, and when he was playing in Siberia he had to actually wipe himself with money because there was no toilet paper! This is a great-great article

Is Vinny Lecalv actually in those videos or is it that same guy from the first set of videos Smart hockey put out? ( Gard Mayer) I was watching some of those demo videos they have on the smart hockey website (Smart Hockey) and it kinda looks like the old videos. The place where they filmed it certainly looks like the same tennis court. (Maybe they're the same videos just repackaged??)

The goal scoring CD is completely new material. Vinny performs all of the drills, and has commentary with the other guy during the drills. Vinny has on a pair of vector ice skates that he put the Tuuk rocker on when he's playing. Pretty cool CD too, good drills.

I ended up selling out the advanced stickhandling one but nobody buys the shooting ones.

I would get the smarthockey ball with a stickweight if you want to get the weighted thing. In general, the ball is usually more fun to use and I enjoy using it a lot. It seems like the steel puck has too much weight with too much slide on the pavement anyhow, which would be really weird on your puckhandling mechanics I would imagine.

I've never tried those practice balls, but if you can grab a few spare sportcourt tiles from a local inline rink and practice w/ a roller puck that'd be nice.

In fact that's sort of what I did. I forget the company, but a few years ago, they were willing to send out tile samples. I used a few friends' addresses and got me a nice patch of practice surface.

I know roller pucks are lighter than ice pucks, but it's a close match otherwise.
