Comp-o-stik tape

Recommended Posts

O.K.-Just to start off, I've used search and I know that there are other topics on this, but none of them were exactly how I wanted it, so please dont tell me that there are similar topics because I know that.

Now that that's out of the way, I just want to share that I read some threads about how good this tape was, so I decided to try some. I figured $1.50 a roll compares to my proshop's $3 a roll nomatter the quality. I bought about 15 rolls.

I bought this tape @ Red Hot Retail and there was great service. I received the tape in about 4 days.

I use this tape, and it is great. I only have to tape every 3 skates(meaning games), compared to 1 shift with renfrew. I recommend this tape to everyone that plays hockey.

I just want to make it clear that I am not a salesperson, just someone who's trying to help a brother out.

Please try this, and let me know how you like it.

P.S.-Also, I take a puck and ru;bb it on the bottom of my taped blade, because it seems to preserve the tape. Instead of cutting up the tape, the ice wears down the rubber. Just a suggestion to people out there who's tape wears too easily on the bottom.

I think comp-o is the best tape I've ever used as well. We're selling another brand because of the price. I was given a couple rolls of Comp-o a while ago and I'm still using them.

i agree that renfrew sucks but i recently bought a roll of renfrew that was black with gold lettering on the inside of the roll and it was much better than the regular kind that is blue on the inside. i dont know if they are different types or not.

I am running low on mine....not renfrew...  I am going to get a case of this stuff...

Don't buy a case-buy a bunch of rolls of the 1inx30yd stuff-it is easier to work with.

renfrew came out with a new line this year which is supposed to be for OPS and composite blades. My pro shop stocks Comp-O-Stik tape and we have been getting a good response from it. You would think people just use tape and don't think about it, but people have been asking about it. Even better that they game me a bunch of free tape at the vegas show :D

That's a good deal really. Last you almost a full season if it lasts as long as people are saying. under 2$ a roll

The comp-o-stik tape has been lasting me a good 3-4 games. I used to tape every 1 or 2 games with the sportstape and andover I was using since it would tear alot during my inline games. The comp-o seems to withstand that a bit more. I also like the added bit of tackiness it has. Great stuff.

Yeah I've been using crappy Superstore brand tape and it is about 10 times worse than renfrew. I'm glad to get my hands on a renfrew rather than the one I'm usin. But that comp-o-stick tape sounds hella cool, might order some. Do you guys know how much it costs to ship it to Canada if they do? Hey how come on the comp-o-stick pic it says renfrew on it?

that is just a generic picture, not actually comp-o. It actually has a yellow center.

I guess I will be the first to say this, I dont really notice a difference between Renfrew and Comp-O. I always just bought what was at my LHS, never even looked the the maker (which was Renfrew). Never noticed till yesterday that the last 15 rolls or so that I have been buying over the past few months have all been Comp-O.

I came across that renfrew tape with the yellow/gold lettering on the inside. It was fricking tough, and was alot stronger than any tape i tried before. It seemed a bit thicker, but moreso just rougher and stronger. I noticed the difference right away when i was taping my stick. I have only seen it once though.

I like the sounds of the ShaftSaver Super Wrap tape I saw on epuck, but after it starts to rip apart and you peel it off does it take paint with it?
