My New Gear Came Today!

Recommended Posts

Well I arrived home from school plesently surprised. I saw the box sitting on my porch and rushed inside to tear into it and check it all out. The first thing I got open was the tube containing my shaft. I pulled it out and I was shocked to find that it was an R2 XN10. Shocking? Well it is when you ordered a Red Lite XN10. Hey absolutely no worries though and I'm not complaining because I wanted an R2 but didn't have the cash to drop on it. It was quite awesome :D

The help I need is that the blade I had picked out to buy obviously isn't going to work in this tapered shaft. So my question is, if my LHS doesn't have any tapered blades or I don't have enough money to get one how can I get a standard blade to fit into this shaft?

I am so happy that I they messed up and sent me an R2 XN10. I'm almost giddy with excitement.

Thanks for the help, it is appreciated :)

Try a website, HockeyGiant has a good deal on wood t-flex blades, and Mission Ether blades. You should try and sell the blade you just bought on here.

P.S. I'd double check your credit card bill and make sure they didn't charge you for a XN10 R2!

I was afraid someone say something like that. The thing is though if I send it back I won't have a stick for my first game, and that would suck.

EDIT: I haven't bought a blade yet, and no they didn't charge me for the R2XN10 they charged me for the RL.

Wow, thats pretty sweet. If you can't buy any tapered blades, you can take a grinder or an electric sander and wear down the sides of the tenon on a standard blade.

No offence ljack, but if it's their fault, thats too bad IMO. People screw up all the time, and that guy will get reemed out. I work at a grocery store and if we keep 1000 boxes of expired KD in stock and someone notices it, they get their money back (just a example, but stuff like that happens all the time). What can you do about it, it's just too bad.

on the flip side of that though, If you were over charged for something you would want to be refunded. You wouldn't say, people screw up, it happens.

well, in your situation, it doesnt look like your going to have a blade for the game. If i was you, i would return the shaft and ask one of your teammates to borrow a stick.

Ljack hasn't posted in this thread. Did you mean JR?

If you go the honest route you may get luckier. You may get to keep the shaft and they might exchange the blade. Maybe they substituted the R2 for the Redlight because they didn't have any but didn't make the switch to the appropriate blade. Stranger things have happened.

No...you bought the stick in good faith.

It goes both ways.

Perfect example - today I went to get some food and the girl gave me the wrong change...she gave me $5 additional. She would've been reamed when she counts down for the night and is $5 under. So...I gave her back the $5 and she thanked me.

That is true, Caine.

I haven't bought a blade yet

I'm going to get a blade today, I hadn't ordered one from the retailer I bought the shaft from.

The blade that you got is a wood blade right? If it is then shaving down the sides of the tenon is quite easy. If it's a composite blade then you're out of luck.

Kirsch, I would take the honesty route and tell them you received a R2XN10 instead of a RLXN10. Think about it if you were the retailer who goofed.

Agreed my brother went to a store, and got 20 bucks extra in change, and he went back to tell the guy, and because he was honest he let him keep it. Also most hockey stores should elt you keep it if your honest. I know a guy that bought a pair of leg pads for goalie, they were 500 they gave him the wrong ones they were 800 and he got to keep them

Yeah, I called them up and told them they made a mistake. They said they were sorry and that I could keep the shaft if I wanted to. I definitely will be :)

Also I went and got a blade and the proshop I got it at shaved it down and put it in for me free of charge. So its all good :D

I guess you did the right thing now that you get to keep the shaft. That's pretty cool congratulations.

It works both ways because what if you ordered a R2XN10 and got a RLXN10 instead...i`m sure you would either want to be refunded, the extra money or have an exchange done.

i had hockeyoutlet send me a z bubble outa no where, no charge or anything. so what did i do? i kept it and sold it! :D

That's theft. I wouldn't brag about that as people from many places, perhaps even there, come here and you never know who might read your post. Then they could have a court make us give them your email address and IP. Then you're screwed. Long story short, if you feel the need to break the law, don't talk about it here.

Consider this. Sometimes if you order something and it's out of stock, they'll send you something better as a replacement, tho usually they'll tell you if they've done this.
