Reebok stuff at Hockey Giant

I've also never bought anything online. I live in a pretty small town (4500 people) and my LHS doesn't really stock that much equipment. I try to buy there whenever i can but i refuse to get my skates sharpened there. I buy all my sticks there becaus ethis year i broke my xn10 after 2 and 1/2 months. The guy said he talk to the rep about warranting it ubt if he wouldn't he'd just give me a replacement for free. I think that is where LHS will always appeal to me more than some big warehouse shipping out equipment.

I've had no problem selling my Mission stock. Partly because I believe in the product and partly because people are having so many issues with other brands.

I think it's a nice product too, but in my part of the country they just don't move. I know in the south and in California, etc, they are popular because of the in-line crossover buyers. Most folks want CCM/Bauer.

I haven't had any issues with CCM skates, Bauer is a whole different story though.

Downside with Mission is that they seem to change their models more often than other manufacturers - the inlines have changed every season for the last several seasons, and the ice skates seem to change almost as quickly. The s series seems to be lasting a little longer though.

Mission seems to sell really well in the northeast, at least from what I've noticed.

For inline maybe, but for ice you are hard pressed to even find that much Mission stuff in the Northeast, let alone see guys using it. Example, I have the only L-2 that I have seen in either of my 2 men's leagues.

Really, when I go to open ice I see a lot of pure fly/s500

tons of sticks

probably more gloves than anything

Sticks and gloves maybe, but certainly not skates. I'm in the northeast, and I'm a skate sharpener. I rarely see a Mission, perhaps 10-15 customers out of 1500 plus regulars If I had to rank popularity in my area it would be:

Bauer

CCM

Nike

Graf

Easton

Mission

There are a lot of old Amps around here and we've had good luck with the S series. I have four customers waiting for my L5 and L7s to arrive, so people seem interested in them here. People here remember the steel breakage problems with the old Mission skates and we have to explain how it was resolved.

That said, Grafs are really big here as well. Vapors are popular with a lot of the kids but the parents are looking elsewhere for their next purchase because of the steel breakage and the mounting problems I show them.

Around me it's pretty much

bauer

ccm

mission

graf

nike

easton

and that's not just including the guys I play with. 'cause most everyone I play with also play roller, so they use missions for everything.

I'd say for the ones I sharpen

1. Graf

2. Bauer

3. Nike

4. Easton

5. CCM

6. Mission

Man, where are you living, Hollywood??? No way graf can be the number one skate unless you live in a "rich" area.

I see a ton of 502s, more than any other single model of skate.

I'd say less than 15% of my Grafs are top of the line. ALOT of 625s, a fair share of 502s, throw in the occasional 609s. Only top of the lines are 704's. We also sharpen alot of Junior guys skates, who have been pretty loyal to Graf all the way up. Since were really only a sharpening shop, most the people who are looking into Grafs have taken the time to find us and take care of their skates properly. I'd say theres a very close race between Grafs and Vapors at the top for kids around here, but I'd say the edge goes to Graf. It won't for very much longer (major LHS isn't going to carry them anymore) and the effects are starting to be seen a bit now, but overall, I would still give the nod to Graf.

Must be a regional thing. Grafs around my area are rare, even more rare are the lower end models. I had to mark all my 703's 705's and 709's down to $259 just to get rid of them! I will never stock Grafs again, they don't sell. Here anyway.

It's definately regional. There's a few shops around who are really jumping on the T'blade bandwagon and since some of the Grafs come with them or are advertised with them, its an easy transition. It seems to either be a "tradional" or "new and greatest" type of feeling around here. Grafs haven't changed much over the years, considering the G series is EXTREMELY rare around here and then the Vapors are put forth as the "new wave skate"
