Why are v-12's so on clearance now?

Recommended Posts

I was browsing through hockeygiant.com and saw senior v-12's on sale for 199.99.

Iam looking inot a new pair of skates and I'm curious to know if any one knows why they are on sale now. I know that the v-12's were nikes high end ice skate but will they be coming out with something new to replace the v-12?

Thanks in advance,

Derek

So because they don't fit you, they're a bad skate? Come on now.

What he said.

Possibly durability issues may make a skate 'bad', having the boot trashed after 2 skates would be 'bad', breaking your foot when you took a pass would be 'bad.'

That's the attitude my lhs has. When I bought my 8090s I was goin got try on V-12s they told me not even to bother. They said it was a terrible skate, and it wasn't because the 8090s were more expensive. They were even telling me to take the Vapour XV before the V-12.

Nike has a new top end skate now called the Nike Flexlite 12. The reason why they are on sale its because they are MADE IN CHINA ! and are made for pennies to begin with haha. I bet anything the Flexlites will be about the same price this time next year. And for 200.00 dollars its definetly worth the money, even if they are MADE IN CHINA. :P

Holy easy big guy. I was just wondering if that was the only reason that you didn't like them.

Beaver-At United you might want to check because they often have V-12's for cheap on the last pair rack.

A lot of hockey equipment is made in China, it's just companies will go out of their way to make sure you don't realize it.

V-12's are great skates. It all depends on what you like in a skate. Personally I love them because they have good lateral stiffness yet offer plenty of forward flex. Also they are quite light and very responsive. I would say if the V-12s fit your feet and you are looking for a skate with those qualities try them on. Just because a store says somthing is better doesn't mean that it is. Alot of people don't like the fact that Nike is in the hockey business and are biased towards their products. Also alot of stores, no matter how dedicated to hockey they are say sterio-typical things like Bauer skates are the best, Easton sticks are the best, ect.

if the V-12 were made in china...where the Flexlite are based??...i heard from my LHS when i was looking for my 1152('02)...that every compagny make there''made in Canada'' for the HIGH END...and all the other are made in CHINA...except for the Nike ...i'm sure it was true...but now some people say it...it might be try

But i still prefer something who made in CANADA than in CHINA...it might be the same...but i think the material or the way they are made...are better quality in Canada than China...and the fact...that little kid work for Nike...isn't nice too

But Oh well...i'm looking for some Flexlite or L-5!!

On my Outcasts I had, the tag on the tongue that you commonly see said "Designed in Canada" looking towards the bottom of the tongue said "Made in China". Talk about misleading, but alot of the production is going there, so it's something that has to be lived with
