Thanks sickwilly, She missed practice last night--got a little dizzy running in PE class yesterday. Better safe than sorry. She's improving. I'm frustrated that she's not healing faster, but I don't tell her that. My good buddy's daughter is also on the team, and he's the assistant coach. I discussed it with him on our way to adult drop-in hockey on Sunday night. He's the coach who was taken out on the ice and at the door. I didn't want to be the parent who tells the coach what to do, but I think he grasped that between his own experience and my daughter's it would be a good learning opportunity for the guy. I'll follow up next week. I can't get on the ice during practices yet--our association follows USA Hockey rules closely, and I haven't yet done any coaching modules. I will do my first one on 12/21, and if the kid isn't stopping by then, I'll throw my hat in the ring. The kid is an un-coordinated gangly kid...just like I was. I think I'll start easy and tell him I'm going to coach him on how to use his long reach...and throw in instruction about stopping. :)

So skated two games back to back last night. Not that I didn't like the original CA9s, but it's hard to believe they spawned the new Maxs. The turn radius is no joke. At full sprint I could easily turn a tight 180 without losing much speed. I was right in my assumption that with the stance you'll have more explosive starting power. no slipping, no lace bite, and only the slightest soreness on inner ankle bone from breaking in but once baked that will be money. Other soreness is in the legs cause I didn't wanna stop playing. other perks include beer tasting better after the game and heightened sex appeal. Everyone oogled over them. Still gonna wait a couple more sessions for full review cause they have added a black Friday pickup session and have an iron man tourney Sunday. Very pleased is the starting point.

Technically this is a piece of equipment, since it will reside in my hockey bag. I had some tongue scraps laying around so I made a coozie. Features you ask? It has a black matte microfiber "upper", 3/8" white felt padding keeps your beverage of choice cool, all sewn up with a Speedy Stitcher. Eyelets on either side for putting a lace through so you can wear it, and yes... it has a 100% carbon fiber outsole. I'm not saying my coozie is better than yours, but...
