Have you ever looked at a hockey skate that has been used.....for hockey? They actually get scuffed, marked, scratched, dirty. Black is practical and will look good longest. Do you know what a white skate would look like after a month's use? Probably the same reason you don't see too many all white tires on cars.

I am the opposite. I think skates have gotten too gaudy. Love the basic black. We had silver and grey Vapors and Nike’s, they look dated.

Just saw this now even though it was released in May.

I'm in agreement here.... Bad idea to change a fundamental connection for safety. Adapt and overcome. As hard as that may be.

Well, since Nexus is dead its possible blue might make it on the Supreme. I think its time to retire the gold/yellow anyway.

Also possible the first sharpening was subpar, and didn't fully establish both edges.

they are on that way for a reason. HECC and CSA both test them like this. if you lower the cage and the clip snaps your liable for all the damages. Such as happened in BC a few years back. player lowered the clips checked from behind cage came off and crushed his orbital bones. left with severe brain damage. The player was suspended for a year for the cross check the player hit has been in care since the hit. I have said this before dont alter the construction find a cage and helmet combo that work. I'm sure there is one out there.

That has to be one of the best looking skates I have ever seen Bauer make. I hope they dont cover it with ridiculous graphics.

It would be difficult to use multiple different carbon weaves in the shaft since its not two peices. That likely why they went with a different structrual design that offer more added strength and less flex. https://buffaloarchitecture.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/AEPresentation-ArchitecturalElements.pdf The hexagon is the strongest shape known. Not many people know this but if you want something to hold a lot of weight pick a hexagon. Hexagonal patterns are prevalent in nature due to their efficiency. In a hexagonal grid each line is as short as it can possibly be if a large area is to be filled with the fewest number of hexagons. This means that honeycombs require less wax to construct and gain lots of strength under compression. It's also one of the only shapes which tessellates perfectly (think tiles, if you tiled a wall with hexagons then there wouldn't be any gaps.

I have done the exact same setup using these... You need to trim, modify, etc as necessary. There's several different sizes/versions. They're easy enough to trim using tin snips, and are flexible enough to bend if you want to change the "loop". https://www.homedepot.com/p/3-Hole-Zinc-Plated-Picture-Hanger-814128/204273798 https://www.homedepot.com/p/4-Hole-Zinc-Plated-Wire-Eye-Strap-Hanger-814118/204273797
