Nice laces!
I think they're Elite's relatively new Oval laces. If so, then I highly recommend them if you want alightly more grip than traditional wax with a larger suface area. Great laces!

If anything, it shows that good food can be found in the most unexpected of places.
There is a HockeyMonkey and a Pure Hockey over there as well.

Stuck in new jersey of all place. All month. FML.

Thanks for everyone's real positive comments.....
As it relates to product availability - the following are our expected delivery dates
Composite sticks - AMP 1100 / AMP 900 - most are in stock - limited flex / curves - mostly being used within our Junior Teams.
Gloves - PRO STOCK - We have stock colours in house ready to be shipped out....we are working on a custom process whereby Team specific ( or player specific) gloves will / can be ordered. We've had a few requests for Ranger style Pro Stock....Stay tuned!
Gloves - GX8 - Our target is to have them in house mid to late May 2013 - just in time for those summer leagues and fitting days for teams.
For those interested - we will have full sample bag of sticks and gloves for all to test out at this Summer's event!
Thanks for the update!
Eagerly awaiting the day when I'm able to order those PS Calgary Flames third colorway gloves. Not fond of paying $200+ for a pair on ebay...

The M3 II feels as light and balanced as a a CL, or 11K!
Hoooolyy mako-naw!
Haven't picked up an M5 II yet but it's supposed to be the same weight more or less as the original Mako.

Although everyone is hyped up about the top end Mako stick, I would just like to draw some much deserved attention to the pricepoint Mako M1 II and M2 II. Although I have not weighed them individually, they are perhaps the lightest and most balanced sticks at their respective ($70, $100) pricepoints. Absolutely phenomenol first impression.

The only one I see with a removable shell is the PPF x905, which is the Tackla 5000 Pro. Vaughn made that pant for NHL and Canadian retail back when they had the Tackla distributorship.Makes sense. We have one last pair of those 5000s left and they are indeed uppers and padded lowers last I checked. The buttons give it away.

Had one of the stupidest questions directed at me today. There was a guy looking to buy a clearance S17 helmet for $50 and was all ready to pay and head out when I noticed that the shell was cracked on both temples where the double screws are. Naturally, being a defective helmet, I couldn't sell it to him and told him so. No worries, I would check the computer to see if any other nearby stores had them and unfortunately, none did. Exasperated, he asked once more if he could buy it and I refused, citing that I would be risking my job, my manager's job, and a lawsuit should I sell him that helmet.
Seemingly undeterred and unconvinced, he then asks if he could pay cash instead and return the helmet to another store for a refund.
No. I'm not risking any of that for your stupid $50 helmet. This was the same guy that I helped, last week, with a pair of pants. I should have known that this would happen...last week he settled for a pair of women's pants because they were on clearance for $15...

Oh boy, at least they weren't coil-bound. Thanks again.

Interesting feature on the T90 Pro player pants; a 2 piece construction. So uppers and padded lowers ala pro stock pants and CCM U+CL/CS?
Thanks for the upload, it looked like you had to manually scan this guy?

That Talon 100 stick is interesting. Pushing it's weight class in line with all of the top brands and even exceeding flagship sticks like the APX (weighed in at 416g in non-grip 87 flex P92) if the catalog measurement is accurate. Using what appears to be a spear construction to me would help with that balance that always seem to come into question amongst any exceptionally light stick from relatively smaller brands.
Weird flex offerings in the 78 and 98. Ridiculous curve in the 33. It's like if someone cropped the heel and inserted a cropped toe of another curve on there...wild.

Of course they have different quarters and linings, they're at different price points!
Yes, the 4.0 is noticeably stiffer than the 3.0, unproportionately so given that it's just one step up.
-
Cool, so a mom just called in asking for 'Viper' skates
"What, you don't know Viper? The car?"
It would be hilarious if the people who say 'Boo-ur' or 'Bar' met her.
-
Skates got me a little confused ...What used to be the Vapor X3.0 are now what? X 50? X 60? Which is the lowest model to be thermoformable?
I don't think you'll be the only one out there who will be confused lol
Easiest way is to follow the line up from the X 30 (there will be people who will add the ':' colon and, in the process, confuse everyone else), which is similar to the X1.0/X:05 and go up from there. But it's weird because in the catalog, the X 40, which should be the equivalent to the X2.0/X:15, has copied the features list almost word for word from the X1.0. It's most likely going to be the case of the former comment as it lines up with the X100 = APX, X 90 = X7.0 relationships as you follow the line down.
Also in this year's catalog, it says that the first skate in the line (going up) to have fully thermoformable uppers is the X 80, which is supposedly the X6.0 replacement. In last year's catalog, the first skate with that 'feature' was the X5.0 (X 70 this year?), but in practise, the X4.0s were stiff enough to be baked that I'd recommend doing those and very rarely did I get people baking 3.0s because they were so much softer. So perhaps this year it would be the same with the X 70-X 50 practically speaking.

Yeah; it was the opposite with Bauer though - they had pattern numbers early but didn't have the popular names, or when they did, they couldn't keep them.Interesting, surprising for me given that Bauer's been in hockey forever. Though if I think about it, current brands like Sherwood and Easton have held the stick market longer than Bauer has. Bauer's only shown success in the stick market within the past decade if I'm not mistaken.
-
imho, Easton hasn't put out anything particularly innovative or groundbreaking in sticks since they introduced the elliptical taper on the S17s.
regarding curves, the only consumers who seem to occasionally refer to the curve name by code number is with Bauer. I hear almost as many 'P88' or 'P92' references as 'Kane' or 'Backstrom'. Almost everyone refers to Warrior, Reebok, CCM and Easton patterns by player name.
-
I saw that ad on Facebook, cool pickup.
-
Ahh I see, thanks. Is this the first time that Warrior has brought down an NHL-spec cap down to retail? I know the 2011 and 2012 Projekt caps were pretty soft, but I didn't want to go around sticking pins in my/the store stock haha so I wasn't sure.
-
Are the shoulder caps on the AX1 shoulder pads NHL-spec?
-
What are the differences between the stick lines?
Is there only going to be the GX4 in the shin/shoulder/elbows? Will the older models carry over?
Those new color options are absolutely salivating...
-
Seriously, Pure Hockey?
Ahaha, that sucks. Simple mistake. If you bought it online and if you have a retail store somewhere with those kinds of security tags, you could ask them to take it off for you. Bring your receipt obviously to avoid hassle.
-
Why? Because they would see football helmet technology and think that it's about time they brought that over. Check out the catalog. The lure of new tech is a big selling point, same deal with the Re-Akt.
-
Very Modano-esque. Seems like it would be more flexible/lower profile if attached to the shoulder pads, no?
Wouldn't it be the opposite, as bending back from a forward lean position would have it push down into the pants? Those kidney sections already come up really high it seems, don't they Krev?
