  1. It may have new mentionss before but with the 1X they're transitioning away from the Intellisense flex point profile?

Correct, streamlined story with the ultra low-kick.

JW: Is there any substance to the suggestions being bandied about that Bauer contract players are using Warrior repaints? I know repaints within a brand are a thing (e.g. a TotalOne painted to look like an APX2, Mako painted to look like a V9, etc.) and I know in the past there have been rumors of interbrand repaints, especially when Easton was pioneering OPS with the Synergy and some of their top players were clinging to wood twigs, but I haven't heard of cross-brand repaints recently.

There is absolutely no merit to that rumor. That stemmed from that one tweet by Warrior.

  2. It flexes right below my bottom hand. It kicks pretty well, but I prefer the "snap" I get from a LKP stick. The blade is fantastic though. Nice, soft feel. I think the flex profile is similar to the Tacks.

Thanks, I agree with the blade, these new Bauer blades are some of the best I've ever seen.

I'm with you on the MX3 though, great feel, but the kickpoint is now too high. I'm trying to get the mid kick like the One95 I had and I've been telling people to look at Nexus is they're coming from T1s.

  3. Giving the Nexus 8000 a go. I LOVE the soft feel of the blade. The kickpoint is.....interesting. I still think I'm a LKP kind of shooter, but the release is still pretty nice. It's all we had at the shop (besides the MX3, which I don't like) until the 1X is released

Have you used other mid kick sticks before? If so, how does this kickpoint/release compare?

  4. @aireaye................don't have quite the coin to go custom. Can I even get Bauer to make some average joe like me a custom pair? My research showed me for production top of the line skates Graf is the ONLY one still hand making skates in Canada. The newest TotalOnes are out of Thailand and the APX2 are out of China. Mind you they still carry an $800 price tag.

@flip 12 whats VH? I'm new to these boards so please forgive my ignorance. Do you mean Vaughen Hockey?

    Thanks for the clarifications,

Yeah VH too, they make custom hand-made pairs. Several of the Winnipeg Jets wore them.

Custom will run you ~$1000 give or take. It's an upcharge over regular retail on top-end in most cases. Bauer could do them for you if you have a fitter in your area.
