You're a psychic. Anyone have smart ideas for a small footprint that will be stable enough to not cause vibrations? I'm having trouble getting this thing to not chatter unless I clamp it down to something that's 300lbs+. So far the only thing that hasn't given me chatter is clamping to my table saw's top. Maybe there's some dampening layer that would help? Thanks.

Thank you. Yeah, that's my one concern. I can just plop the sharpening box onto a counter somewhere if that happens. The tires are mostly to wheel it from my car to the building as it's heavy as crap. Thank you. I used 1/4" wood dowel and just pressure fitted the spinners on to them. We'll see if they hold up or if the posts get skinny over time and I have to figure something else out.

So I went a little nuts. Just need to add a little PVC pipe getup for dust collection and she's done. I take it to the local rink and sharpen so I needed a mobile option.

Got my new toy... Very excited to mess around with it.

How many pairs of skates are you guys getting per wheel (ruby if that matters) and how many wheels per spinner? Trying to roughly price out the future of this thing. Thanks!

Couple more questions while I'm thinking about it: 1. The pitch knob I imagine tilts the blade up or down at an angle, breaking the blade's coplanarness (word?) from the wheel. Does this need to be adjusted when raising or lowering the side knobs, or does the pitch angle stay the same no matter the height of the side knobs? I'm coming from a Blademaster with just the left/right height adjustment rods so this is a little foreign to me. 2. How do you deal with replacing crossgrinding jobs without the vertical crossgrinding wheel. Say I get someone's skates that are way off level or have big missing chunks that need to be ground away, is there a certain method for truing them up reliably? Do you just make sure they're clamped level and go at it until the edges are ground away to be level? Edit: 3. Are there any radiusing options for the X02? Does the Shaper System fit the X02?

Sorry, I meant the holder, the X-14. Didn't specify, my bad. It looks like the MSRP is just $50 more.

Thanks JR. I know a lot of the parents in our youth organization so I would get a lot of business from them if I ever opened the door. Sounds like maybe if it's not too much more it'd be worth it to future-proof myself a bit? I would definitely get some ROH spinners for sure. I was definitely going to get the accessory kit. I'd get all the stuff in there anyway I'd assume so might as well save some bucks. And yes, I'd make a leather hone for the black/mirror runner varieties. Thanks for the help!

Looking to get my own X02 for my own skates, friends and maybe as a side sharpening business. The nearest FBV place is 2 hours away so I'd have some pretty good opportunities. Anyway, I had some pre-purchase questions I'd appreciate any input on from someone who owns/has experience with one of these machines. I've read through this thread but there's just so much it's hard to pick up on what i need. 1. Is there a basic set of FBV spinners you'd get if you wanted to cover all bases as concisely as possible? For example replacements for 3/8", 1/2", 9/16", 5/8", 3/4", 1". 2. Which wheel colors do you use? Is Ruby still the best general purpose one? 3. Is the upgraded X-14 holder worth it over the basic X-12 version? Is it just the spacing difference to be able to fit more holders in the jaws? 4. Any other tips, tricks or accessories you wish you knew before you bought it? Thanks in advance.

I saw this post on Reddit. It was posted Sunday evening around 9:20pm PST and I saw it not long after that. The guy happened to be buying Warrior sticks off Amazon and noticed the insane prices. I got lucky, really. Edit: There's still a very few DT1's on sale. All gone.

Bit of a mail day from the Amazon sale. I've had the three white Diablo SE's but got the other 4 today. Pretty stoked. L to R: Dynasty, DT2, Widow, Widow SE, Diablo x3. All LH 75 Gionta.
