I used to wear a padded shirt instead of shoulder pads. The rib pads really annoyed me, kept getting hung up on the top of my pants. Also, it didn't offer a ton of protection.

Coaching players with learning disabilities/mental illnesses

I just did my level 4 certification class this weekend and Alex DePalma did a fantastic presentation on his program in Brick, NJ. Try reaching out to them with questions. USA Hockey is also really vested in getting programs like this started all over the country so you should be able to get some help from them as well. Here's links to both programs. http://brickstarshockey.webs.com/ https://www.usahockey.com/disabledhockey -

Thanks, exactly what I was looking for. I also reached out to HM and they had the same response you and TH had which was not really hearing anything. Interesting since they were really pushing that 5/15 release date on their social feeds over the last few days. -

Well, today is the day. Don't see anything up on any of the usual retailer sites. Also stopped at my local TH (only dealer in my area listed on STX's site) and they don't have anything and the manager wasn't even sure if they are getting them in. He said he hadn't heard anything from corporate about them at all. Was hoping to at least check them out today, my shoulder pads are on their last legs and I was holding out for the surgeon line to be released. -

Hockey1 has some of the stallion stuff up for pre-order. Quick question for the pro shop folks, am I correct in assuming that most new stuff is already sitting in the back and gets put out on the available date? -

Thanks for the heads up. I hate wearing shoulder pads but I've had tears in both shoulders so sort of a necessary evil at this point and I've been nursing the ones I wear currently for a bit so not sure I can wait until September. Guess I'll see how the 500's fit when they are released and go from there. If they are as low profile as people are claiming, the extra protection would only be a plus for me. -

Anyone know if the 300 protective line shares the same release date as the 500? Starting to see some 500 items pop up online with the 5/15 preorder date. Thinking the surgeon 500 shoulders might be a bit much for beer league so interested in the 300 version. -
Drop his gloves to protect himself? I know you hate the Flyers but really? Why wouldn't he just keep his stick up if he wanted to protect himself from Carcillo? or turn away from him? It's pretty clear in the replays that he had enough and turned and dropped his gloves to fight and Carcillo got him before he knew what hit him. I don't even like Carcillo and wish he would be dealt away but there's no way Bradley didn't want to fight this idiot.

I guess Bradley just dropped his gloves to ask Carcillo if he wanted a beer after the game. Watch the video again, he clearly drops his gloves to fight before getting his ass handed to him. Here's the best I could do to capture the punch, looks like his gloves are off as he's hit. My problem isn't the 2 4's or the 20, it's the fact the Bradley got nothing for a fight he wanted to participate in. And according to Carcillo, the supsension was for the cross check not the puch which makes even less sense since the cross check while he was down was a pretty weak one. The second one was the nasty one. Interestingly, Carcillo said it wasn’t the act of punching the Capitals’ Matt Bradley that the league was upset about, but what happened immediately prior to that. “It’s just hitting him, cross-checking him when he was on the ice. That’s the only part that they didn’t like. Everything else, they didn’t mind,” he said. http://flyers.nhl.com/club/page.htm?id=35835

Just another one of the NHL's ridiculous double standards. I think Carcillo is a bonehead and takes stupid penalties but how can you award 29 minutes in penalties and a 4 game suspension because another player is slow getting his gloves off? Sure Carcillo was really quick to hit him but it's a fight and it's very clear Bradley threw his gloves off to fight. It's not like Carcillo jumped him from behind, he was just faster to the punch. Pun intended :) Also how do you get 5 for fighting when the other player gets nothing? That's redicolus. Can't be a fight if someone else doesn't engage you.

Wondering that myself. Maybe just not in this version of the catalog?

I've only taken it down the track 4 times so I haven't been able to run it all out yet. The best ET it's had so far is 10.71 but I wasn't driving it then. I had it up to 126 on my last run but I was late going into 3rd so it should have a little more left. We are in the process of building a new engine that should put it in the 9's hopefully.

another one 90 question about sizing...
Miserable replied to mattopiela's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
I don't understand the obsession with pre ordering either. I'm probably getting these skates if they fit my feet right but I'm certainly not rushing out the day they come out to do so. I'm sure they are a great skate and I will be happy with them but I can't see spending 600.00 on something that I don't have any durability information on first. I think it would be much smarter to wait a couple of months until the reviews are in on the skate and you can get as much information as possible. Also I don't work at a pro shop but if a shop is taking pre orders, wouldn't they fill those orders and also get a full run of the skate on top of that? This way they have enough for their walk in business. -
That's the way it should be.
