  1. Fair advice. Considering the swap wouldn't cost me anything, I'll keep on these holders for at least two weeks (about 10 hours of ice time) and report back.
  2. This isn't my first skate in Makos. I've been in a friend's pair.
  3. Finally got back to Vancouver and held my new babies fresh from the box. God they're light. Didn't fit me at all at first, but after the bake I slotted right in. Will be changing them out to the Tuuk Lightspeed holders though - I can get them free and I really can't stand the CXN, as much as they are a part of the boot.
  4. In regards to pricing, it really is just a means to cover all their bases, isn't it? I mean, a Size 11 SR skate will cost as much as the Size 6. It's just that the Size 11 will cost less than its "worth" (materials, mostly) and the size 6 more. That's why that 300 dollar jump for half a size sort of makes sense, and doesn't really denote a "lowering" of the materials (though yes, Junior skates are known to be softer).
  5. Any tips on what temperature setting to use on the heat gun?
  6. Anyone got any pictures of the lacing on the front? And any specific information about the pattern?
  7. Helmet - Bauer 7500 Cage - Bauer Re-Akt Elbow - Bauer TotalOne NXG Shoulder - Bauer TotalOne NXG Shin - Bauer TotalOne NXG Pants - Bauer TotalOne NXG Gloves - Bauer TotalOne NXG Skates - Bauer One.9 (Will be switching to Mako with Tuuk LS2 soon. I know, it breaks my Bauer-thon) Sticks - MyBauer TotalOne NXG P88 Kane/PM9 Stamkos Curve depending on my position as LW or Center. Hahaha, I had just moved to Canada, and didn't have any hockey gear but Skates with me. These were a gift from the family, each member bought me a piece of gear. Despite the fact I haven't tried on the gear before I got it, they kept the receipts and I could've traded them for other pieces. But for some reason the new Bauer series fit my just fine. Used to wear a Frankenmix of Easton/Bauer gear.
  8. Does anyone think it'd be worth going oversized LS2 holders with these skates? I know it's slightly off-topic, but what exactly do oversized holders affect? Turning Radius? Agility? Speed?
  9. I'm thinking of switching out to a Tuuk LS2 as well. I've always skated on a +1 Forward Pitch, but the +3 on the CXN is too much for me. Plus, I've always just preferred the LS2.1 Steel. To each our own, really. If the skate isn't making you happy the way you skate, tailor it so it does. There's no point spending that kind of money on a skate if it didn't make you happy and maximize your performance as you've always had it.
