  1. I'm a size 10 in normal shoes, my Alkalis are 8.5 but my recently purchased Bauer supreme 150 ice skates are size 9. ^^^ For comfort that is, but I did fit the 8.5 Bauer.
  2. My "Super Roo" CA9 RPD's. I went with Alkali because I believed they were the best, I'm about to upgrade again with Alkali because I now know they're the best. "Super Roo" is the kangaroo logo that I have on each chassis. The story behind the Super Roo logo here in Australia is that it was found on our most famous muscle car the Falcon GT-HO Phase 3. Fastest 4 door sedan in the world at the time. I'm always looking for that motivation to go faster and make my skates stand out which makes it the perfect fit! I added the yellow laces because it also makes them stand out that much more as well.
  3. The mag chassis is a great addition to these skates, makes a huge difference. If you have a look at something similar like the CCM Tacks on a straight chassis they managed to cut around 100g per boot from the package. But then at the same time the price of the CCM skates is almost at the thousand mark. its alright to want these features but are people willing to pay extra for them? That's the question.
  4. Yeah it really is a game changer for the roller market in my opinion. No D/EE to worry about while getting the perfect fit. It's having your cake & eating it too! The only other thing I'd really like from future Alkalis is a bit more weight cut out. To be fair every new model has been lighter than the last but even the Tacks now with hum'ers are around the same weight as AC1s.
  5. When I bought mine I had the same problem but I ended up measuring the length of my feet and using the the size guide on inline warehouse, was very accurate.
  6. All 84A for me,at almost 90kg everything else feels like I'm bogging down and breaks.
  7. Here's a cheaper alternative to a full ice conversion. I'm thinking of getting a set myself. http://www.inlineiceblades.com/photo--video-gallery.html?m
  8. It's the greater stiffness of the Max skates over the teams. just means a slightly longer break in period if you're doing it without a bake. But once they're all nice & broken in you'll really appreciate the extra stiffness of the better boot! :)
  9. Recently convinced a staunch quad only skater to give Alkali a go, so she picked up some brand new Comp + skates. In her words " these are amazing and I'm in love with them!". Got to try them briefly myself and I can say that chassis is the real deal! Just goes to show just how great these products are!
  10. Yeah tell me about it, it's either mission or Bauer and you decide which arm or leg. I pretty much get everything from IW and ebay now.
  11. As I've mentioned earlier mine are 26.5cm and I'm in size 8.5 Alkalis. My toes are just off touching the toe cap, it's the perfect fit for me. I guess that just shows why trying things on is a good idea, we've all got different feet.
  12. It's like lowering the suspension on a car, it handles much better and is more responsive. The taller chassis on the ca9 isn't bad at all, but the movement version is better.
  13. I'd go the shift, movement chassis is a game changer.
  14. My feet are 26.5cm and I'm in an 8.5 ca9 RPD with a fairly snug fit. I don't think I'd fit an 8.
  15. Yeah I've been checking here and IW like crazy but no info. Aren't theu supposed to be on sale in 2 days?
  16. I'm getting a set of Max+ shipped as soon as they're available in October. What's the go with the weight Justin, will these be lighter than ca9 rpd & current max?
  17. Mine are the same. Normally i'll wrench them as tight as I can & then after I get warm & get some heat into the boots i'll have a bit of give in the laces. So I'll go through and re-wrench the laces as tight as I can again & get the rest of the give out of them, that's when I get the best performance out of them.
  18. I got my CA9 RPD's from you guys last July, as soon as you get these in i'm ordering.
  19. Opposite for me. I've recently had the chance to back to back test some AC1 Inhalers against my CA9 RPDs(both pairs less than a year old) & there was a huge difference in performance for me. - I immedietly noticed the lack of wheel size of the front wheels under heavy, on my toes acceleration.(didn't affect my ability to make the skates perform but didn't feel as nice) - Launches were easier for the first few steps and acceleration was great but to get that acceleration out of the Hilos was a lot more "hands on" and required a lot more energy for comparable performance with the straight 80s resulting in much quicker fatigue(fast quick strides vs fast long strides). -As with acceleration requiring more energy, maintaining speed takes a lot of energy as well but with a noticably lesser top speed(Alkalis are so much easier to reach higher top speeds & stay at top speed) -AC1s were more agile but for me the lack of grip on turns didn't feel as nice(personal thing though completely subjective) In the end I couldn't wait to get the RPD's back on, Hilos are nice in isolation but compared to straight 80s are outclassed for performance(only my opinion). I did this with the older non recessed chassis, in theory your lowered/recessed chassis should be much faster than mine.
  20. Big step up! I really like the placement of the RPD logo and the overall design. looks like the chassis has been slightly modified as well. I'm just glad theres been some actual changes and not just cosmetic changes like the new Mission line. The wait is going to kill me but i'll be ordering a pair as soon as they become available.
  21. Just measured screwdriver it's 3mm.In all honesty I wouldn't fit a smaller size, it's quite a tight fit as is. Heel lock keeps me at the back of the boot at all times and my toes just about touch. No movement whatsoever.
  22. I can only fit that small screwdriver between my heel and the back of the boot. Screwdriver is roughly the same if not a bit thinner than a pencil.
  23. I haven't tried a recessed one yet but i'll be upgrading to Max's in August-September for no reason other than I can't help myself. But in my non recessed Alkali's I found I picked it up straight away, no issues of boot slide. Could just be "out of sight, out of mind", all I was obsessing over was how quick I wanted them to be out of the box. They were. lol
