  1. I tried the Fire cut at Summer Jam and instantly loved it. It definitely convinced me to buy a Sparx machine and I've been very happy. I was using 90/50 FBV and now use 5/8 fire.
  2. I guess my concern is that it’ll be so stiff it’ll no longer be comfortable. Now that I type that out it seems ridiculous since they will be made to fit my foot and it shouldn’t be an issue.
  3. That’s what I’m worried about.
  4. Has anyone opted for the built in shot blockers since they have switched over to True? I’d assume there would be no difference from the VH skates but I want to be sure. I’m ordering a pair this week and am on the fence. I usually wear skate fenders and would like to ditch them.
  5. My order was actually just filled. They told me they underestimated the demand and are doing everything they can to keep up with orders.
  6. Just to kind of update how things are going with my sharpener after a month of doing my skates and buddies skates I’m still very pleased with the machine. I’ve had zero issues. The only thing that I find a little concerning is almost all of their grinding rings and many of the accessories are backorder for 10-15 days. This isn’t a big deal right now and I’m happy to wait for my order to be filled but if I ever absolutely needed something and had to wait 15 for it to ship I’d be very disappointed.
  7. I got it today. I had it setup up, aligned, and sharpening skates 30 minutes after taking it out of the box. It's wonderfully simple to use. The machine itself seems really well made.
  8. After getting to see the Sparx sharpener first hand at Summerfest I finally decided to pull the trigger and get one. It should be here tomorrow.
  9. My "Soup Can" gloves.
  10. Thanks for coming and answering our questions. I normally use a 90/50 FBV. While I'm not the greatest skater I'm very particular about my hollow. If I have too much bite I feel like I'm going to break my ankle. I tried the 5/8 fire ring and really enjoyed it. It's definitely not the same as the 90/50 FBV but my transitions felt smooth and I had good glide. The thing I liked about it is that I felt like I had slightly more bite while turning hard but still the nice loose glide I normally have upright. It's really hard to put into words but I am sold on it. I skated the 2 hours at Summerfest than skated in two games on Sunday. Edges where great through all my games.
  11. I'm not seriously considering Massive. They are just a company I didn't know anything about that is showing up in my feed more often. The issue with Step is being in the states getting Step for the Edge holder is tough it seems unless you know people.
  12. Are they better quality than LS4?
  13. Does anyone have any info on these? They keep popping up more often but there is little to no info I can find.
  14. Thanks. I got them at Pure Hockey.
  15. My ever growing collection.
  16. I'm sorry, mixed reviews was probably not the correct way to word it. I've just heard that the hollows can feel a little different than what you might be used to. So you might need to get a different hollow than what you might normally get to have the same feel.
  17. I've been getting the FBV 3/4 from noicing. Is there a comparable grinding ring available from sparx? I've heard mixed reviews of the 3/4 fire ring.
