  1. Does anyone else find the AS1 to be a little too stiff of a skate? CCM had stopped retail factory production of the FT1 in order to prepare for the next Jetspeed release and the only retail sizes available for this player are in the AS1 and 70K. The 70K is way too big for the player and the AS1 fits him perfect, but he has been complaining that he cannot find the proper way to lace them to allow for good stability/support while allowing proper flexion. He previously used the 1st generation Jetspeed skate which is quite a stiff skate, not as stiff as the AS1, but still... I somewhat understand what he is going through as I personally found the first generation one-piece Super Tacks to be too stiff. Though the AS1 is slightly less stiff, it's overly stiff for me as well and feels more like a ski boot than a hockey skate.
  2. I think since Tydan and a few others are going to start offering steel for eh Step/VH holder we will see more people using them. It really is a great holder, especially compared to SB holder with those stupid screws and bolts.
  3. Has anyone had a chance to touch one of these yet? One of the guys I skate with had one, he is a CCM rep, I wanted to check it out after our skate but he left in such a hurry I didn't want to bother him. Seemed to load like a Warrior QRE as he had a wicked snapper.
  4. I believe they are currently on V4 of the skate as they recently switched to a new carbon weave.
  5. No, Bauer will provide a like replacement for the amount paid that they feel is suitable.
  6. Open to any trades? Have a TON of stuff. Let me know if there is anything specific you might be looking for.
  7. Looking for compression pants with velcro sock tabs. My girdle has a cup holder built in so I would prefer ones that don't have a cup pocket. I haven't been able to find any so I figured I would ask.
  8. Who do I call specifically? www.fastechlabs.net ?
  9. Just buy a set of steel that is not sharpened and swap it. Should then be able to return the skates as new.
  10. They are light, but nothing is as light as the E700.
  11. They look legit, wish they had some place in Seattle area.
  12. But that's not even remotely close to a hockey position....
  13. I was watching a player get scanned today and one thing I think that's interesting regarding the Bauer scan method, it doesn't account for putting your foot in the proper position. Why would they have a player stand completely straight, not be in a hockey stance, and not have their weight shifted appropriately?
  14. I agree with this, with the exception of True skates.
  15. We got a ton of them in and while I love the feel of them, very Easton E700 like, it feels like I have a huge floppy bucket on my head. lol
  16. I had the same result with an FT1, the Super Feet positioned my ankle too high and was very uncomfortable but with the AS1 I think there is enough play to allow the height difference. In the FT1 I had to use Speed Plates, and they felt AWESOME.
  17. An FT1 has almost zero protection. Ever blocked a shot in one? The retail model has almost zero protection anywhere other than the ankle, and even there its thin compared to a True skate or even other brands. I have owned a few pairs of pro spec FT1 skates and they are marginally heavier than the retail model. There is more padding throughout the entire skate, clarino liner (optional) and thicker ankle pads (optional), and even the composite seems thicker. I am not sure a retail FT1 would be able to handle 30 days of abuse from a professional player before falling apart. Now, I am not picking on the FT1, because it is one of my favorite skates, I am merely stating facts when comparing retail vs pro spec skates.
  18. I don't care what it's called. Thanks fact is I see it more with one brand than others and that "slang" is what most people understand it as, hence why I used it in quotations.
