  1. It really depends on what you are looking to enhance or change. What works and doesn't for your specific skating style. There is no "best for everyone" profile.
  2. Ive added my own comfort edge to skates that players have needed it. Not very many have needed such. It is amazing. But everyone is different and some are more patient than others.
  3. No, the shop is just ignorant. It's full of boxes and old gear covered in dust.
  4. If he wears them enough and does some dryland he will adjust. I agree they are heavier than Mako II and others but it is, in fact, a pro spec skate. Once you add extra protection and such everything weighs about the same. I really do hope Bauer incorporates a lot fo the Mako into the next Vapor skate.
  5. The last pair of Trues I had made I requested a lot of little specifics. I wanted them to be as close to a Mako as possible and they were able to deliver the near exact experience including the aggressive pitch forward and deeper heel. Going with "off the shelf" I would say the Grafs were the closest in boot feeling, supportive but still flexible.
  6. I had Rob make my True skates as close to a Mako as possible as the Mako is my most favorite skate of all time.
  7. Blademaster makes really good replacement brass eyelets. You might want to order those and then have a shoe repair or hockey repair shop put them in.
  8. Usually we give the customer some credit back in exchange for the steel and holder. We then sell them the Tuuk and any steel of their choice at cost and charge a very minimal fee to mount. While Tuuks are still more popular than the Step/VH holder, we are starting to see more people switch to the Step/VH holder on other brands of skates, specifically a lot of people who use CCM and dislike thr SB holders. Personally, I love the Step/VH holder. My main issue is no one other than Step, and soon to be Tydan, make steel for it. In the end, it's likely I'll be using the next generation CCM holder when it releases soon. I have been very impressed by it so far.
  9. No more boot only option 😞
  10. Not a problem. They really do go above and beyond to meet customers expectations. Many of the people who dislike True skates either could not get accustomed to the weight, they didn't use them long enough to give themselves time to adjust, or just couldn't get past the way they look.
  11. I have two pairs of True skates. I am not entirely sure what you are asking. The toe box fits fine. Some might like it a little more snug than others and for them, I recommend to either push the tongue down further into the toe cap or we add some foams. As for width, its made to fit your foot, so there isn't any extra room or slop unless you tell them you need room for foot issues.
  12. The skates would be made to fit your feet. The proper length and width. It's literally built to your foot specifications. There is no width or length measurements, per se.
  13. Ryan is the man. Mikko is awesome too!
  14. The boot seems to be about 48 grams lighter. That taking into consideration that I didn't get the shot blockers in this order. Total weight difference including the shot blocker is about 137 grams.
  15. You can use a dremel to drill down the carbon inside of the toe cap. I also remove the red rubber padding from inside the toe box as well.
  16. They still do tan. This pair was just made a week ago. zIn fact, you can see the "built date" of 9/6/2018.
  17. Just make sure to let the shop doing the work to adjust for the forward pitch thats already been applied in a previous profile. Usually, they adjust the profile on the ProSharp to account for such.
  18. Wanted to try the newer manufacturing process which incorporates the new carbon and a few other slight changes. I also wanted a pair without shot blocker and was curious about trying a different liner type as well.
  19. Be careful with how many times you profile.... Many "templates" have a forward pitch incorporated into them and if you keep profiling the same set of steel, and the shop doing the work doesn't account for such by adding a negative pitch, you are adding more forward pitch every single time you profile. I found this out myself the hard way a long time ago when I decided to profile my personal set of steel 5 times and I felt like I was sliding down the face of a cliff. This is something that many shops dont take into consideration as its nothing you can see by eye unless you know to look for it.
  20. Way too much to read here. Let's bring this to the basics. When using the factory profile of 10' what do you not like?
  21. I have I have the 2018 CCM Jet Speed stick, top of the line with the P30 in a 75 flex, right hand. I dont need it as I have a ton of sticks currently so I would be happy to give you it for a reasonable offer. Shoot me a PM if you're interested.
