  1. A few suggestions/recommendations:

First, before any game, wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water. I do this because it helps dry out your hands, removes any oils, and helps keep your gloves smelling fresher, longer.

Second, take your gloves off in between shifts while on the bench. I'll usually take one glove off one shift, then the other hand the next. It's only a few minutes, but it really helps your hand breath/cool off and let a bit of air in your gloves.

Third, try Tacki Mac or another tape alternative. I switched exclusively to Tacki Mac and tennis overgrips on every one of my sticks now and the amount of wear on my palms after a full season is what I'd normally see after a single game using traditional tape.

If you STILL have problems, I guess you could always bring a second pair of gloves to the bench and alternate which ones you wear each period? Like already recommended, try pro stock with an overlay on the palms of nash/micronash which will be more durable than some other palm materials. If you like a tight fitting glove, I'd recommend the QRL, but they also run a bit warm so that might not work for you

I was able to turn tighter, but because of the weight combined with the 72mm wheels, I was struggling to keep up.  I went back to hi-lo 76/80's and was back to my original speed

Wheel size is dependent on frame size with the O1. I have a large chassis on an 8.5 boot and it’s a 76mm flat setup. So not as much difference compared to a 76/80 hi-lo setup

Hello, did you have the opportunity to compare the Trickster X with the Labeda asphalt? How did they perform and on what surface?

Waiting for the R1 to arrive. Current O1 is a flat setup. I’ll be using them on asphalt; so pretty rough

This attitude is the reason the wheel was cancelled as a hockey wheel to begin with.

Roller being smaller scale to ice and then no one wanting to pay for a premium outdoor wheel.

You get what you pay for.

I understand paying a premium, but the gold standard outdoor hockey wheel is pretty much the Labeda Asphalt. That wheel runs $7. The MPC is more than FOUR TIMES the cost. Since this discussion started about the Slime, that wheel is $13 so the MPC is still 2.5x the cost.

Comparing your logic of ‘you get what you pay for’, Step Steel or any other piece of premium equipment doesn’t cost 4x or 2.5x more than its high end counterpart. 20-50%? Sure.

I’m willing to pay a premium (and do) for better performing or longer lasting gear. But I’m not willing to spend the cost of a single wheel that would normally buy a set of four. If they priced it closer to $15 there’d be a larger market willing to adopt them. For casual/rec users (non pros) I have a hard time believing that many people are going to spend that kind of money on wheels

Hey man, I was referencing the dual pour version of the Freestyle wheels.

They have 2 versions, the single pour which is a rebranded trickster and the dual pour which are rebranded og 84a hot shots.

I use the dual pour 84As and love them, they’re guns on every surface under my 103kg.

nothing else rebounds for me like these wheels.

The trickster is a dual pour wheel so it should be the same, no?

I’d be looking to use them on the road/asphalt

I’ve made the switch to MPC Freestyle dual pours and couldn’t be happier, they’re the original 84a rink rats rebranded as MPC slalom wheels.

If the MPC Freestyle are the same as the Rink Rat Trickster X-Grip, are you playing with them outdoors on asphalt or on smoother surfaces? How have they been wearing? I just picked up a set of these and they certainly feel softer than the Labeda Asphalt wheels I’ve been using for years. Concerned with longevity and durability (especially considering the price)

  7. With the exception of another pair of gloves and a jersey or two, I’ve been pretty good with not buying ice equipment during quarantine. Roller on the other hand... got one new pair of skates, converted another pair to Marsblade O1, have another pair waiting for the R1, think I’ve tried out 3 sets of wheels, picked up a pair of sticks, and some off ice training tools. Whether you see it as a pro or a con, I’ll likely be using the roller gear a lot more in the near future. Not sure when I’ll be back on the ice which sucks

  8. I wrote this on another forum a while back when people were inquiring about Bladetech:

“Bladetech’s innovation is a notch carved out of the steel near the front part of the holder. It's supposed to allow the steel to move slightly allowing it to 'spring' in the holder, giving you a bit more burst of speed.

I was given a pair of steel last year by my pro shop after a mishap. I could not tell any difference from my normal Step Steel in terms of performance, but only used them for 4-6 games before switching back to Step. I still have concern about unnecessary wear to the holder with the steel moving and not being secure, but have been assured on numerous occasions that this is not a concern. I didn't not like the steel while I used it, but am comfortable with Step so that's what I use. The BT is in backup rotation if I need an emergency set of steel. While their black/colored steel is a matte finish, not mirrored, I didn't notice any additional snow buildup on the blades vs mirrored finish Step Black.

The problem with BT has been no information out there about the product. There's a bit on their website, but almost no real world reviews. Makes it difficult for anyone to learn more about them. I'm not a youtuber or gear reviewer, or anything like that. With Step now being exclusive to CCM, if you can't find Step Steel, BT is about on par with Byonic steel in terms of pricing and less expensive than Tydan“

  9. Not bad and I like the red, but seems like they should have incorporated green since every other team in Seattle has that color palate. Agree about the waist stripes not matching the arm stripes. That’s a detail that always irks me. Pants really need a stripe on them

the whole ‘krak house’ and ‘krak heads’ is absolutely hilarious!! Can’t believe no one caught that (or cared) during focus groups

  10. Did everyone that received a delay email preorder size Large? I preordered Medium which was originally slated to arrive in August. Haven’t seen an email saying they’re delayed anymore.

Any 8.5 skate owners order Large or stick to Medium? Chart shows medium as the recommended chassis but a 9 is a large. Still not sure which would be better, but thought medium will result in a smaller radius and require more balance which would benefit me on the ice

  11. Curious why you didn’t try Fit 2 if you’ve been skating in Supremes for the last 7 years. Fit 1 is lower volume like the Vapor line. If the Supreme line fits your feet I would think you’d gravitate toward Fit 2 first. The fact you didn’t even try this fit before buying the skates doesn’t make any sense?

at this point talk to the shop and see if they will exchange them

I never saw that number anywhere. Not sure where you did but it's good to know. Seems like those are the hardest wheels on the market. Can you post where you saw that number please.

Edit: I do vaguely remember seeing 85a for a revision wheel. Don't recall details

I do agree it’s absurd most websites, including Revision(!), don’t include this basic information. Maybe it’s not accurate as the wheels don’t have the durometer printed on them, but it’s out there
