  1. Not teasing, they released them a month or two ago. FT890R is the top of the line model based off the FT890 ice boot https://www.icewarehouse.com/CCM_Jetspeed_FT890R/descpage-JS890.html?from=gpmax&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=20879492832&gbraid=0AAAAADy-Dht_qUKLawNhwwa5BMVK1dY7G&gclid=CjwKCAjwyMnNBhBNEiwA-KcguxW9Do7TNv9N4Lt8ZO5JsxFKdQty1ssirtKUFMFPsPcDfM89yLu4OxoC7jsQAvD_BwE Bauer is also releasing a trio of new inline skates this weekend. Their top of the line flylite model has an updated version of the krypronium chassis
  2. Based on Warrior’s comment on Pavel Barber’s post, the skates will be released in June https://www.instagram.com/reel/DVt7ywEkScD/?igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==
  3. IMO, the question is if you want it done right? Send them off to a proper professional to have them done right and chalk up the added cost as having learned a lesson
  4. Exactly what I saw too. Nothing special you can’t simply get already with Tacks. Don’t get the hype other than it being white which will look yellow after a few games
  5. Paid influencers impressed by a product they’re given. Color me shocked! Shocked I say! I am curious in the Warrior skates but that wouldn’t prevent me from buying any of the solid options on the market currently. Especially if the warriors are still 9+ months out before they go on sale
  6. Hmmm… I may have to give this a try. I like a longer twig on D, but cut my zegras the same height as a P88. Will cut off an inch and see if it changes how I feel about the curve
  7. Huh. Haven’t heard that in any of the ‘P88-like‘ discussions. Unfortunately that curve doesn’t appear to be available in the V line of sticks
  8. Apparently the QR6 feels very different than the QR5. Looks like I might have to bite the bullet and try them out for myself
  9. I picked up a VX in the Zegras curve after hearing everyone hype it up. I’m a traditional P88 shooter so I knew it would be an adjustment but more than two months later I still fumble shots with it. Really wanted to start using a different curve but I think I’ll be going back to the old reliable
  10. My go-to stick for the last few years has a been a batch of CCM Trigger 6 pros. Really enjoy it but haven’t been able to find anymore in my specs. PSH just got a bunch of QR6 Pro sticks in my specs and I considered trying them out. Just wondering if anyone has used both and could provide their thoughts?
  11. The Genetix insoles that come with some True skates are squishy and would be nice if you’re a ref or coach in your skates all day. As a player I feel they take up too much volume and deaden the feel of the skates
  12. I loved the Bauer 1x Lite and ADV. For me they just worked
  13. Never tried baking them but agree they’re terrible insoles. Maybe if I were a ref and in my skates for 8 hours? It for playing they’re too soft/squishy and take up too much volume
  14. I have tried too many cut resistant socks. If I had to recommend one above all others it’d be cut shield. Unfortunately they’d likely be too big for your 7 year old. They do offer sleeves in youth sizes which would work https://www.cutshield.com/product/footless-tubes/ If you’re adamant about socks and not sleeves. Aycane is my second suggestion. They have multiple sizes to fit just about all foot sizes. https://aycane.com/en-us/collections/youth-hockey/products/a-shield-skate-socks I find all cut resistant skate socks to be far too tall. They basically go to your knee which keeps your entire lower leg warm. I’ve cut mine down so they fall just below my calf. Once you cut the height to the desired length simply fold over the top and stitch em down. Takes less than five minutes. Plus side is you basically make cut resistant sleeve wraps with the excess
  15. Converted a pair of True's 'whiteout' skates. Way too loud for ice, but I've been dying for this roller combo for years. Now I'm just debating between silver or black lowers for my primary wheel setup
  16. Say it ain’t so! Surfside already shuttered their doors? Really liked this place. Had two skate conversions done, multiple sharpenings, and enjoyed their overall setup
  17. I have not. I was offered the ability to purchase one of the preproduction sets, but the price was so absurd I passed. Still holding out hope these will make it to market at a more reasonable price point
  18. When I moved from Bauer to True I also switched from Tuuk to XS. Don’t recall any noticeable difference in the holder and I was using the same type of steel in both holders. The boot made the obvious difference to me. While I never had any durability issues with the trigger, the dial is easier to replace if needed
  19. Disadvantage in terms of weight? I can deal with it. I don’t play roller all that much and am far from competitive. Just play pickup when I’m in town and have the time. I remain a fan of Marsblade. After recently using some kryptonium hi-lo chassis before going back to the R1 with the O2 insert, I’ll double down on my enthusiasm for the product
  20. Eh. They do a great job of eliminating any negative space on the top of your foot/boot, are quite comfortable, and do breathe well. Latest gen of True SVH tongues and the FT8 Pro tongue may achieve something similar with their memory foam minus the breathability
  21. It’s hard to beat the comfort of CCM’s latest offerings. They feel like pillows on your feet. As much as I tried to get myself to adjust to their boots, the Trues just work better for my feet/skating
  22. Yep, R1/O2 upper is the same so inserts and lowers are interchangeable between the two. The O2 insert is pretty great if I’m being honest. It’s what I (personally) always wanted out of the R1. Nothing is as stiff as the TF9. lol! No, the FT690 gives you noticeably more flex. Good or bad depending on what you want out of a skate
  23. Refreshed the R1’s with the new O2 insert which makes the rocker so much better IMO. Keeping them. Sold the FT690’s. They’re great skates for the price. Incredibly comfortable. I simply prefer the R1 chassis.
