How much does flex matter for face offs?
-
That’s lit
-
Well I guess that does answer my question. I’ve had a few teammates with blade issues but I wasn’t sure if it was a fluke and a review i watched the guy broke one on his third shift
-
Do you think a 58 flex would be too soft? I don’t feel like snapping sticks. I’m using a 67 bauer right now. I can definitely get some good flex on it and I feel it when shooting but never really paid attention on passes. I weigh about 165.

How’s the durability on the ax9 or any of the other ones you’ve used? From the sound of it it doesn’t seem like 58 flex will be good for me
-
Do your trues feel more whippy than bauer? I’m guessing they’re the same flex rating. I’m just wondering because I’m using a 65-70 flex but true doesn’t offer that for most intermediate sticks. I was thinking of picking up an xc5 but I’m not sure if it’s flex is too light plus I’ve heard that they can be whippy. If you’ve used an xc5 or any xc line stick could you comment on the durability of them?

Did the 2019 line have durability issues?

Xc line

Ok. I can’t tape my blade but I might have to try it out

Do true sticks feel whippy or stiff for their rating? Also, how is the durability on them?
-
Would you say ccm blades held up better than the few Bauers you had?
-
Good to know

Arches are killing me and no one knows the issue

Test went pretty well. I stayed on them for a while and no pain. I’ve never had consistent times getting the pain so I just went for about 10 minutes -
Ok. Just wondering because I can’t tape my blades so it would be a lot worse if they did wear
-
Do the blades hold up or do they chip and fall apart easily?

By don’t do the laces up do you mean don’t tie them at all or tie them very loosely? -

So if I were to get a skate that’s too wide or a little wider than I need I won’t get the arch pain? -

I’ll try a different insert. The first one reduced the pain a little bit but it was still there -

According to the Bauer foot scanner, my arches are on the lower side -

No red areas. I only think they’re too big because I’m tensing up which makes me think Im trying to compensate for having too much room or something even though it doesn’t feel that big. -

Also I did notice that parts of my feet like toes and front of the ankle tend to tense up during skating. When I talked to someone at pure hockey, they said that tensing could be part of the problem. He also said that the stretching would help my feet lay flat which wouldn’t make my feet tense up. I’m not sure how much of this it’s true. Would too much room in the boot cause my arch pain? -
Have you tried a supreme against your supertacks?

I only start getting the pain a few minutes after going at a decent speed. For example, at pure hockey they let me do laps around their sticks so mine is probably different from yours, but before I got my skates stretched and with the insole, I could only do about 4 laps. After I got them stretched I could do significantly more with the arch in. But, I cannot remember having this pain without an insole before I got the boots stretched besides for 1 moment. It could be because I was more focused on the game but it was still bothering me a little bit. Also, my feet did kind of fall asleep and around my feet hurt from what I assume was the boot being too narrow. One or both of those issues could have taken away from my arch pain.
