  1. CHL = Central Hockey League? Because the CHL (Canadian Hockey League) and the dub are the same thing... the dub is in the C.
  2. Kor Shift 1 Background - 6' 190 Introduction - I have skated on European Grafs or Tacks all growing up, then I had a pair of CCM Vector Pros for a year, then I pair of CCM ZG130's. It's hard to find skates that I'm totally comfortable with: the Kors will fit any foot :D Fit - You go faster because these things fit better than any other skate I have tried (and I'm a fit freak). The toe liner does feel really nice on your foot, holds it snug but keeps the toesies nice and comfy as well. 10/10 Blade/Holder - Good steel, skate feels VERY solid when cornering, crossovers, skating backwards. I am used to a forward lean, but with the Pitch3 holder I have experimented with a neutral lean, I have liked it and I will probably be skating with a neutral lean this season. 10/10 Weight - Ok they are a little heavier than the CCM ZG130s, if you could tell the difference while you're skating. It doesn't matter because you skate FASTER with the Kors anyways. 9/10 Protection - I've only been hit really bad in the ankle with these skates once. I didn't feel anything. 10/10 Durability - \While I haven't done a full season with these yet, I'd have to say they are the most durable skate I have seen. I can be hard on my skates (It's hockey eh?) 10/10 Conclusion - Best skate money can buy. I wouldn't wear anything else if I had the choice. Once again, because the boot is built better, you can skate faster in these things. Overall 10/10 :)
  3. K2 is korean? don't they make snowboards?
  4. Dude I can't see anything in those pics. And where do you play? I'm living on Whyte Ave. right now (actually Wye Ave but same thing just down the road) and I would LOVE to get in on some hockey over the summer. PM or email or whatever me if you have any hockey to be played.
  5. Is that like in a Catholic church or something? I've NEVER seen anything like that in Canada.
  6. Chill gloves? I have NEVER seen those. And btw you're cool for fighting a Russian team.
  7. Well I would be the guy to talk it over, cause I'm one of the main player/leaders on the team. My coach is a member of Hockey USA, we all have HockeyUSA insurance and affiliation. Maybe we are ACHA? I don't think we hardly play any truly ACHA games though, and we would have to play 16 ACHA games, meaning we'd have to drop a few of our other commitments. Isn't that "opportunity to play for a National Championship" only apply if you play the 16 games? And what kind of costs are we talking here? Cause the school doesn't support us at all, we pay for all our ice, rentals, gas money, hotels, equipment and everything on ticket sales alone :( Meaning our budget can get tight.
  8. You'd need to repalm them, if I can find them. Lemme know if you're interested, cause I don't use them anymore.
  9. Looks like someone was dropping their beer and accidentally pushed the button on their camera. But I like your uniform.
  10. How familiar are you with college club hockey? Cause everything that is non-ACHA is not "local men's leagues" I don't think the Pac 8 or Midwestern are playing in "local men's leagues" and neither do I consider our play like that. We schedule all over. it's either NCAA or ACHA, the rest is intramurals If my "intramurials" you mean, within the school (like we have intramurials at our college, different frats/societies will have soccer/bball/vball etc teams) then you're wrong. Cause we have intramurials for every sport except hockey. But our hockey team will play different clubs from Appleton, WI; Nagaunee, MI; Iron Mountain, MI; Duluth, Minneapolis, MN; Windsor, ON. As well we play in several tournaments, one in Dryden ON, against teams from Mannitoba, Minnesota and Ontario. Just cause we aren't in ACHA or NCAA doesn't mean we can't schedule games against whoever we feel like. In fact, ACHA teams can schedule whoever they feel like too, it's just that they have to play 16? ACHA-only games to qualify for an ACHA season.
  11. How familiar are you with college club hockey? Cause everything that is non-ACHA is not "local men's leagues" I don't think the Pac 8 or Midwestern are playing in "local men's leagues" and neither do I consider our play like that. We schedule all over.
  12. Depends on the league. I know ACHA mandates it, but most club is pretty unstructured.
  13. I do play beer league but that's my college club team right there. Hence the NBBC in the ice.
  14. Are you the only alternate? And what league do you play in?
  15. yglod basically hit the nail on the head, I loved the feel of that Sherwood for my strong hand, and the Easton was doing a pretty good job for protection (I have a hard time with bruising when guys slash the top of my bottom glove). So I mixed and matched. I plan on getting some Eagles or something nice soon.
  16. LOL that's really odd, and another thing is I have my CCM Vector in that photo, when I could have sworn I used my Easton every game after the Christmas break. I have the Easton in Pic 4.
  17. Me lining up, for some reason as a winger, we must have been on the powerplay. I remember this game as the game that my E-blade holders cracked and I went into the boards hard... last time I skated indoors on those skates. Same shift, for some reason I'm lining up against a different defenseman this time. Lining up as a winger again... trust me I DO play defence!! Ok here's me playing defence I guess, that's my defensive partener Kevin (#6) tying up his man on the far side, and I'm #60... um let's say I'm looking at the guy I just put on his butt. The point is, my side of the crease is clear, so I've done my job, eh? Yeah and here's me and my partener getting off the ice. I'm a quick on quick off kinda guy, but often the other pairing will ask us to stay out longer to let them catch their breath. And you can clearly see my famous green mouthguard in my helmet, it matches our home jerseys :) And last but not least, our team! Look at the NBBC on the ice!!!! And I'm the studly guy on the back row, third from the right. ^^^^ OH yeah look at that NBBC! ^^^^ I can't believe it shows up so well in the picture.
  18. Here ya go... http://www.bbsticks.com/liedetectorinst.htm But, if I have my regular stick (without a lie detector attached, just a regular blade that I'm thinking about buying) and I put my top hand down by my side, there is no way that the blade will be flush with the floor! It's going to be off the floor at least a couple inches. Maybe I wasn't clear... what's the best way of figuring this kind of thing out WITHOUT using a piece of equipment like the lie detector.
  19. If I don't have a lie detector but I can try out sticks with my skates on... how do I hold the stick? And I'm guessing that I need somone to get down on the floor and see if the blade is flush? I'm just wondering cause in a game, often my top hand gets folded almost up into the armpit, and I don't think that that is the way that I should determine that the lie is good for me or not.
  20. hey JR, I wear Vector 9.5E but I'm a little hesitant to think about buying something like a Kor w/out getting fitted for it. If I came over for that tournament in May, would you be able to fit me/sell me a pair?
