  1. I would think that would be just as illegal....not a lawyer in the US but I would bet if you put that up you could be sued.
  2. What's the proper term/typical word to use north of the border? Sorry...was just joking around I have only ever heard of getting your skates sharpened and in the now "old School method" putting a hollow in the blade. Of course now with this new method not sure what to call it ..LOL FBV.... Well if you are anywhere near Oakville Ontario you are lucky it is available there.
  3. "Oh, wait a minute. We just sold two pair of hockey skates to customers who have been in the shop getting fitted for about 45 minutes. The wait is now an hour." You havent been to one of our stores used to have a 3 hour wait at one of them!
  4. Well if your in Canada you would be in luck.......but using the word "grind" (not typical in Canada) I would say your not from Canada and are out of luck.
  5. Yes, and it will cut down on how long it takes to sharpen a goal skate (w/ regards to deep hollows) JR I took the plunge and ordered 3 different FBV spinners. I tried the middle one tonight and wow...skating from the blue line to the red I was able to coast all the way around to wear I started. And in talking to Steve after I noticed another thing My knee (arthritis in it) didn't hurt as usual. Although my back was a little sore. After talking we decided you may have to change the center point of the blade as you feel further back after switching the the FBV (don't ask me why). It was also sore because I had more energy from putting out less effort to run the practice and shot a ton more pucks. I think we have a winner here. "how long does it last"? Well I have to say after an hour and 1/2 it still looked like it had not even been skated on. The whole team is getting there's done now as a trial.
  6. I'm not sure. It depends on if England has higher duties from stuff coming from Canada or the US. I'd go with whomever is cheaper, shipping and duties. I had been using NASH but switched to Midwest. Shipping is cheaper and no duties for me. NASH seemed more "informed". Nash is for sure more informed he has been working with them since they came out and was even helping with the whole idea. Ralph is a really great guy and really knows his stuff!
  7. In fact by the end of the playoffs they all had it and I had come to find out they use a Triple Profile on all Players were the Penquins use only the double. There was some very interesting things there. Penguins (hardly anyone on Step and double profile) Redwings (all on Step and triple profiles) Triple profiles - is that different radii for the front, mid, and back of the blade? And, is it blended in by eye, or are there triple profile template bars? also what are the benefits of a triple profile? triple as in 9 10 9 and 9.5 10.5 9.5 are the most common but there are many others! As for the benefits you might want to ask the guys holding the Stanly Cup. There is at the that level but it does take a fair amount of tinkering to get it right. Once it is done right then well the sky is the limit in adjusting it from there to really make the skater fly!
  8. they stock it in Hockey Experts now and if the companies dont start shipping on time I would say that would be a safe bet!

  10. Why? The Pitch steel is perfect. No reason for an aftermarket version. Actually the width of the Step steel would enhance the fit and the performance of the Pitch Holder even more so though.
  11. to anyone whos worn both xxx's and 9ks .... how do the sizes match up? say im a 7.5 in the xxx's would i be a 7.5 in the 9ks or would it be a 7? Well lets go back a bit. the CCM Tack did until last year have the narrowest heel counter. If you go with an Easton 900 say it also has a narrow heel counter. For those that have said that the 9K wont work because its wide and the pump does nothing I totally disagree. I have a AA heel and just got mine and am coming from a Custom pair of G35's and the fit is much tighter. (with the bladder blown up of course). I had to get custom XXX for a player on our team with a AAA heel and EE toe and they fit me perfectly and would take them if the owner would give them up.....(not going to happen...LOL). As for the size I am a 9 mens shoe and am in a XXX 6 3/4 (perfect fit) 9K is a 6 1/2 (alittle extra room) G35 is a 6 5/8ths (as above) But still like the 9K best.
  12. Well your reasearch is incorrect. Sorry. The RBK is in fact the closest to the 8090 in fit espically in the arch and heel area.
  13. The tighter your skates the less room your toes have to let the cool air cool your feet. Plus with to socks and a skate that isto big or ill fitting you could get an ankle sprain if your socks slip inside the skate......just not a good thing to do!
  14. Thats usually why you get cold toes. Boots to tight or bad circulation. I agree....never wear 2 pairs of socks...if your toes are cold you usually have a skate thats to big.
  15. Thats whywe implemnted a tracking system so when they say that we can pull up what there team has spent on anything in the store and if they have spent 2000.00 for a whole team in a season we can simply tell them "yes we can tell you....." and you still arent getting a discount.
  16. Just a question....have you ever seen a picture of a product on an Internet site they dont have in stock? I thought so..... If an Internet store where to keep an Inventory as is on there website at all times how would they stil be in business. Someone that works at one can correct me but do they not Drop ship a fair amount of there orders except for say buy out and clearence things they would have had to purchase?
  17. (Don't blame the LHS. The F'n companies treat LHS's like sh1T, and the internet sites get first priority, fiirst for deliveries, etc.. The manufacturers are doing everything they can to drive the LHS's out of business. Your poor LHS prob tried to order for you but was given a back-order. It's a no-win for the LHS.) Are you for real???? There is no way a company like Bauer or any other would give prefernce to the companies that cause the most problems IE fit and returns form poor fits. They may however give prefernce tot he larger box stores and the Buying groups like Source for Sports in Canada but as for a good shop in a good area with a good rep and in good standing with the accounting Dept will always get what they ordered first behine the Box and the Buying groups.
  18. I think that's how my LHS did it. I see what you mean about it beginning to look like a banana. It didn't do that. Sometimes when I start on my toes I think I use that part of the blade. I don't have video of it to be sure, but it just bothers me when it's not sharpened that way. Essentially it doesn't really make a difference? Well most of us have seen the bauer video and the one by Maximum Edge and there is no way in the world you can skate on the last half inch of blade either on the toe or heel, so the only time it really needs to be done is on the last couple of passes. That maintains the profile that you had put on the skate or what you may have had from the factory.
