There's an invite/private pickup in Clearwater a couple of days a week, mostly over 50 all the way up to pushing 80. I would say more than half the gear there belongs on the wall of a sports bar or in a museum. I wear an old HM40 cat eye cage, the lighter weight broomball/lacrosse/hockey brother of the HM30 I used to wear a half shield. After getting cut a couple times and the bridge of my nose peeled back I went back to a full cage, hated it. I had an old HM40 left over from my box lacrosse days, I've been wearing it for 7-8 years.

Wow. I feel your pain and share your suffering. I have 4.75 & 5.5 EEE ball and A heel with 254 holders, custom TotalOnes. Looking at VHs for my next skates and my sons. -

Enough of you guys have those now that somebody has to be able to do a review, please. Pretty please. -
Had a similar experience with my Kor skates. Not to the extent of yours. I tend to block a fair number of shots. I have a pair of Shift 1s and 2s, both have several small chunks out of the carbon fibre base in the toe area. Never compromised the integrity/stability of the holder like yours.

The Step Steel for my sons U+12 skates was listed as a mm difference in one direction or the other for his size skate compared to the holder. I forget which, think it was smaller. Fit perfect, not sure why they do that.
-
Could it be a bent blade, I think this leads to pretty erratic and inconsistent sharpening. If it were a slight bend it might not be visible. I have one on my Fusions, planning on replacing it with Step. Just haven't gotten around to it. I found out about 45 mins. before a playoff game last season. Sharpener spent about 15 mins. on that one skate to get consistency the length of the blade.

We traded out the CCM steel for Step Velocity steel in my sons U+12s. After they started to get a little nicked up and a few local sharpeners got ahold of them, I just gave up on the whole don't hone thing. They look pretty beat up now. I hate trying to get a decent and consistant skate sharpening in this state.

Have a bent Fusion I need to replace as well.

I have been trying to get an answer for pretty much the exact same question. My son has been skating in U+12s. Finally outgrew his old pair as they were literally falling apart. I managed to get him a used pair a size larger for a great price. He is a very technical skater with amazing edge work and I'd really like to get him a pair of Makos. Problem is there is only one store in the entire state that stocks them and they have a very limited supply of sizes. So trying on a few different pairs close to his size is probably only going to be achievable through UPS/USPS.

Just noticed on hockeymonkey that there is now a Junior price that is lower than the Senior one.

My sons U+12s are beginning to really show their wear, not sure if they're going to fall apart first or if he's going to outgrow them. Begining to explore options for his next pair of skates, do you know if the RBZ skate will have Jr. sizes and/or pricing?
-
I guess that pretty much means these skates aren't an option for me.

Should be handwritten under the right insole. Mine has a 5 digit number & underneath that is the skate length, forefoot width, heel width and a T6.
